Cingular
I am going to switch from Sprint to Cingular. I would rather ask the people I know rather than believe a sales person. They only want to make the sale and after you are hooked they do not care about you. Any feedback on Cingular would be appreciated.
I do not like Sprint and already know about them. No way I would stay with them either.

In my area the coverage isnt very good at all from cingular. In fact a mile from the cingular store there was/is a dead spot where if you had a SIM only phone you would not be able to place calls. Calls to customer service were fruitless; I was shuttled from one tech to another and one actually told me to stand outside my car in that area and I might be able to make a call
(Hmm should I have climbed a tree?) Needless to say I no longer have them.

They currently have a deal on the Razor phones. I would have to get my daughter unlimited text. lol. I am looking at the family plan. Would have to get my hubby the simplest phone they have. arkess, I am looking at the Nokia for him and the Razor for me and my daughter. There is a new Crazor out that has the MP3 Player, which is my cup of tea.
george, I did not think anyone did that except for Sprint. I could be sitting there right by my cell and it does not ring on my end.

That whole thing about getting "more bars" is true from what I can tell as a Cingular customer -- not by choice...they bought out AT&T. However, I have had much better reception with Cingular than I ever had with AT&T, especially near the hospital (most people get crappy reception here) and near the ferry landing, close to the Coast Guard base.
I'll stick with them.

Linda, i'd ask people you know in your area who they have and go from there. They're the ones that'll be able to tell you if Cingular has deadzones in your town and where they are. I have sprint and usually don't have any trouble with them but let me walk into the target store here and i'm in the middle of a deadzone!

There are so many deadzones for Sprint. I always get dropped on the interstate and even at my desk.
The people I have talked to this morning said that they have no problems with deadzones with their Cingular. I also checked out some statistics and according to what I have found, 3 out of 5 people have Cingular. I am not much on statistics, but it helps in a decision.

I've got the Razor phone Lin --- good phone - nice and light -- looks great, but text messaging is a little weird. Also -- don't get that lousy plastic belt clip - you will hate it. Go for the leather belt clip.
Oh -- I'm on Verizon. I think its a toss up between the two

I think the further south you go the better cingular is. I havent heard many complaints from people down there. I think the issue here is Cingular took over Suncoms market in Virginia a while back and inherited a mess that they are still trying to fix. Unfortunately for Cingular I need phone that works throughout my delivery area, so I had no choice but to drop them.
