...SNOW MIXED WITH LIGHT RAIN BEING REPORTED IN AREAS OF VOLUSIA...ORANGE AND SEMINOLE COUNTIES...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS RECENTLY RECEIVED REPORTS OF VERY LIGHT SNOW MIXED WITH LIGHT RAIN AND DRIZZLE IN PORTIONS OF VOLUSIA... ORANGE AND SEMINOLE COUNTIES. DOPPLER RADAR IN MELBOURNE SHOWS A SURGE OF NORTHWEST WIND ACCOMPANIED BY LIGHT PRECIPITATION WORKING SOUTH OVER VOLUSIA...LAKE...SEMINOLE AND ORANGE COUNTIES. WIND GUSTS OF 25 TO 35 MPH ALONG WITH BRIEF LIGHT RAIN MIXED WITH SNOW WILL BE POSSIBLE OVER NORTH CENTRAL FLORIDA AS THIS ACTIVITY WORKS SOUTHWARD.

ANY SNOW SIGHTED SHOULD NOT REMAIN INTACT UPON CONTACT WITH SURFACES AS TEMPERATURES ARE CURRENTLY IN THE 40S.

I have family here from Orlando right now and they are amazed. This is the first snowfall reported in Orlando since 1989 and the first snow in central Florida since 2003. I am still shocked that it is happening in November.

Yep I see the flurries outside in the flood lights. Absoultly amazing.
If there were more or it wasn't mixed with rain I would wake the kids. lol.

I would expect to see some more winter precip in Florida overnight,expecially in the NE part of the state where they will be getting down into the 30's.Right now Jacksonville is stting at 41 degrees with a light rain,and I bet there's a few ice pellets mixed in with that considering Orlando is seeing flurries at 45 degrees.

Not to rain on your snow parade but remember what happened during hurricane season after it snowed along the gulf coast. Ok ok...i'm just being superstitious. Go play in your flakes

I agree. This is certainly an amazing storm for Florida. It would still be amazing were it to happen in January too, but the fact that it is November is just beyond belief! I mean how often do you hear of PRE THANKSGIVING SNOW in central Florida!

interesting article, I don't recall the snow flurry incident in Jan 2003 but the one back in 1989 was pretty spectacular with snow even in Sarasota on the Gulf coast.

The 2003 event was very brief along the east coast. It was caused by cold air being sent west over the warm ocean and creating some "ocean-effect" snow flurries. It was not too significant for those inland from I-95.

Snow reported in Orlando, Fl. And to add to the cliche', it is in the 70s in Colorado! Yeahh!
