I just got home from Black Friday shopping...

Comp USA was open from 9-12 tonight and had to wait in line for about a half hour but got inside and made a killing, got 2 new keyboards for the hubby and me and memory and now all i have to do is go to work and get my paycheck and replace what I spent. Got a extra paychek this month so was able to finally get some stuff we've been putting off.

BTW, Best Buys by me as of midnight has a line around the building and getting longer

CompUSA here just closed last week. Oh well, there's always Best Buy or Circuit City.

We were open at Sears at 5am. To give you an idea of what was going on at 4:30am, when I arrived for work, there was a line clear around one side of the building near our MPU (Merchandise Pick-Up) entrance...and only 20-50 people at each of two other entrances to our building. Electronics and Tools did the most business between 5 and 7am, and if my estimates are correct, we had about 400 people there. If you figure they each spent an average of $200...that shakes out to be a cool $80,000 between 5 and 7 just in those departments (that's just an estimate).

I stayed home today and enjoyed every last minute of it! I usually start putting up the outside X-mas lights today, but I'm so run down, it'll just have to wait another day. ZZZZzzzzz.....

God Bless You, Christmas shoppers!

I got up and went to work for 4 hours.

I've only got to buy a gift for a 4 yr. old and a 2-month old - EASY.

Mama's gift, well, us three kids give $50 a piece - she's already told
me what she wanted, so, it's my job to order it! EASY!

I'm sleeping in..... I'll get it done before Christmas!

I was at work at Sears for 4:45 a.m. Doors opened at 5. There was a line of people standing out the door since they were issuing $10 gift cards for the first 200 customers. I work in shoes and it was not that bad. The majority of the customers were in electronics. I don't think this year was nearly as bad as years past. Today I work from 1-10 and I have a feeling today may be worse than yesterday. Even though my schedule says 10 since that is what time we close, we can't leave until the store is clean. So, no telling what time I will actually get to leave and then it takes me nearly 20 minutes just to get home from the store.

I ordered all of the sales online that I wanted from Sears. No need to go to wait in line when I could do it at home from my computer.

Also, people do not realize that those that run the early sales will not take them off sale. A week from now, the same items will still be on sale with more percentage off.

Have not set foot in any kind of store since I went grocery shopping Wednesday. I don't miss the crowds and the sillyness of shopping Thanksgiving weekend....MGC

Your day today sounds like mine did yesterday cajungal.

Today I did 7am to 7pm since we did an early bird sale from 7am to noon, taking 10% off everything BUT electronics and appliances. I do an 8 hour, 45 minute day Sunday morning...so, it's a quick turnaround for me again. At least I will be off from Monday on until they tell me to work next.

I was dissapointed that there were no real good DVD's at super low prices. Picked up a compreesor from Sears. Target and Walmart were dissapointments. Got some good deals on clothes at Kmart but had to drive 4 hours to get them. Unfortunately no Best Buy, Circuit City or Kmart where I live.

that Kmart is like a junk place. Last time I was there it smelled and they had junk all around the aisles. Will never go back there again.
