http://www.microsoft.com/windowsvista/
i was looking for the beta i heard was out, will keep looking.
Features include: windows mail, calendar, photo gallery, media player/center, movie maker, parental restrictions, a easy transfer from XP or older to vista, and a faster/better gaming experiance.
You can buy it or it will be already installed on new computers.
I think this will be a major improvement.

It could be a bigger flop than ME. Microsoft is going to drop in the software world. They are going to find othe ways to make money though from other than programing alone.. Hence Zune.. flop ..doesn't even work in Vista..LOL Remember Microsoft wireless products..flop.. Bill is trying..but programing alone isn't getting the job done..a clear sign when Activation and Authentication came out.

Sheesh, I just got my first XP machine about a month ago, and I just learned how to clear the "recent documents" - no file to simply empty, you have to dig deep into the start menu. I'm still nursing along two ME machines. They're fine if you respect their limitations.
I think it's called "churning." Microsnot keeps busy turning things over to maximize their revenue. Meanwhile, no more support for ME.
I say bring back Win NT. That was probably the most stable, bug free OS there ever was, even though you coudn't hardly do anything with it.

VISTA should be pretty bug free, the BETA has been out for years (formerly known as longhorn) But it's crazy what they expect every pc to have; A minimum of 512mb ram, dvd rom... etc And the clever thing they are doing is... The new DirectX (Which is needed for new games) will only be released for VISTA so anyone who wants to play new games will need to upgrade to VISTA and to do that, they will need to upgrade their machines to acomidate the requirements for vista,I must say the GUI looks amazing..At least I don't game anymore so I don't really have a need for it yet.

Hrm,I don't get all the insults on microsoft.People really make it sound a whole lot worse than it is...XP was rather stable.Only bad windows I can think of was ME.And well,I can honestly say security issues can be avoided with ones brain.I refuse to install SP 2 because of it's high system upgrades which are too strict for me,deleting files sent over MSN without option is horrid..All one needs is a firewall,Anti-virus and a spy-ware program.I prefer it over linux,I enjoy having GUI and not prompting things. My pc works fine the way I have it.I enjoy windows (well to an extent) but it's really not as bad as some people make out... Only problems I have with vista are the above post mentioned ones
