Miss Mary wrote:j - OMG - my husband does the same exact thing! I swear we have so many empty boxes right now, probably 20 or more. The only one that ever gets decent use is the one our iMac came in. He needs it for semi-annual tradeshows for work reasons so when he needs to pack it up, the box comes in very handy. And once for Apple repair. The rest of the boxes have collected dust. For years!

Add Dave to that list! I just did a major closet cleanout, and discovered a box for our first CAR phone - not cell phone... car phone. I'm thinking that was late '80's?!

Interesting note about the edges - very soft, you can almost see in the pic. Color is much more intense that what is shown here. Click on pic to see a larger version...

Oh Jen! What an absolutely beautiful piece. I envy you that bowl! Ya got a real good one there. Excellent find!!!! ENJOY!

* growling* Now - gimme that bowl!!!!!

I ran across a deviled egg holder almost that same color a couple of years ago. I love bringing it out at Christmas and using it.

I save empty boxes too. You never know when you're going to need one. They are nested and stacked neatly in the garage. I've moved so many times in my life that boxes were always needed.

I was collecting the state quarters but finally gave up. It never failed that the day before payday we'd need bread or something and we'd raid the quarter collection. That happened so many times that I got disgusted and just stopped saving them.

I save soft drink bottles, especially the bottles with painted-on labels. I snatch up a set every time Coca Cola comes out with a new set for christmas etc. I have the NASCAR (Not A Sport, Car Action for Rednecks) sets too. :cheesy:

Thanks dizzy! I just got a wild hair one day to do some browsing in shops about 20 miles from me, and stumbled across it. I generally don't buy much in those places, but that piece just screamed "BUY ME NOW!"

Aside from the stunning color, all the different cuts add a ton of interest to the piece. Can you imagine the mold someone had to make for that thing? Must've taken forever to get all that detail in.

<clutches bowl protectively to bosom> And NO! You can't take it from me!

Wow! I tell you, I am really hooked on this stuff. Dave has been bugging me for a Christmas list, and I'm thinking all I'll need to do is send him some links!
