Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays?
From the distance here in Puerto Rico,I see that all of you in the states talk about this in different ways. Some say Merry Christmas and others say Happy Holidays.Or it's good to say it both ways?
Here in Puerto Rico we say Feliz Navidad that in english is Merry Christmas.

Merry Christmas usually just comes out of my mouth without thinking, but if I know I'm in mixed company (as in around Jewish people), I intentionally say happy holidays.
This new policy by corporate giants (Wal Mart, et al) to say "Merry Christmas" instead of "Happy Holidays" is horribly disrespectful without including "Happy Hanukkah."

Personally I think if someone takes offense to my wising them a Merry Christmas it is their problem and not mine. I have Jewish friends and work with Jews also and I also wish them Happy Hannukah etc. But if I am in a situation where I don't know everyone I wish everyone a Merry Christmas. If somone is offended by my wishing then good tidings, which is what I am doing, then I think they are looking for something to gripe about. ENJOY THE SEASON NO MATTER WHAT YOUR RELIGION IS!!!! No one that I am aware of is forcing anyone to change how they celebrate the season and I don't intend to change how I celebrate it for fear of offending someone!

If it's really close to Christmas I say "Merry Christmas", but otherwise I say "Happy Holidays".. that way everyone is happy.
But for me, I can pretty much say "Merry Christmas" to everyone I know though, so it's not a problem.
I can see why ads and stuff are "Happy Holidays" or "Season's Greetings" though.
