They're right, I am from Florida, but my race is Filipino. I like that last sentence because I always thought my voice wasn't right for radio or TV.

You may think you speak "Standard English straight out of the dictionary" but when you step away from the Great Lakes you get asked annoying questions like "Are you from Wisconsin?" or "Are you from Chicago?" Chances are you call carbonated drinks "pop."
that's funny because I still say "Pop" even though i've lived in the South for 15 years.

Judging by how you talk you are probably from north Jersey, New York City, Connecticut or Rhode Island. Chances are, if you are from New York City (and not those other places) people would probably be able to tell if they actually heard you speak.
My second closest was Philadelphia.
I know I have a combination of both due to growing up in Long Island and living here in the Philadelphia area for 20+ years.

BINGO! I lived in Chicago for 50 years. And I'm just now beginning to use the word "soda" instead of "pop."
