If the hanging were televised, I'd watch it. If it isn't, it will surely end up on the internet, like "Lurker" said. Has anyone heard of perhaps the proceedings being broadcast on radio??

It will probably be Saturday. Friday is the sabbath for Muslims and Sunday is beginning of Eid, a Muslim holiday.

there is no point to hanging, may as well just shoot him in the head.

He deserves no less than the Iron Maiden

I went out to my car, stuck a yellow "Support Our Troops" magnet upside-down on the back, and then tucked a picture of Saddam through it with the loop around his neck. :)

I'll try to get a picture during daylight.

I'd rather have him thrown into a pool of hungry sharks.

More violence in Iraq. I don't know how the world will react to that, but I don't think anyone will send more troops to Iraq to try and stop the violence.

I find it disturbing to see that some people would actually like to see a person die. I always thought we left that part behind a few centuries ago.

The Iraqi prime minister said those who oppose the execution of Saddam were insulting the honor of his victims. His office said he made the remarks in a meeting with families of people who died during Saddam’s rule.

Our respect for human rights requires us to execute him, and there will be no review or delay in carrying out the sentence,” al-Maliki said.

Says the president of a country where violation of human rights is almost something normal and where even the official security troops torture their prisoners.

No, respect for the human rights doesn't justify an execution, on the contrary, it would justify a non-barbaric way of sentencing him. And certainly doesn't justify actually liking an execution. If we'd excecute everyone who violated human rights and 'insulted someones honour', this world would be one hell of a mess.

As I'm sure I've said before, I used to be (and still am, to a degree) anti-capital punishment. But it's my belief that this is a whole other ball of wax. However, we shouldn't get into a big debate about it (too political).

Just saw this news: http://abcnews.go.com/International/wir ... id=2756518

Saddam Lawyer Seeks to Prevent Handover

At first glance, before I clicked the link and only read the small headline on the homepage, I thought it said "Saddam Lawyer Seeks to Prevent Hangover."

COMING ACROSS THE WIRES!!! News agencies are reporting that U.S. officials have informed Saddam Hussein's lawyers that they have handed Hussein to Iraqi authorities, according to one of the lawyers.
