Statement as of 2:34 PM CST on December 29, 2006
The National Weather Service in Austin San Antonio has issued an
* urban and small stream flood advisory for...
Travis County
* until 430 PM CST
* at 234 PM CST... National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated
thunderstorms moving north across central and eastern Travis
County producing heavy downpours. Rainfall amounts from these
storms will average close to one inch... with isolated amounts up
to two inches.
Runoff from heavy rain will flood creeks, streams, street
intersections, culverts and underpasses. Low lying places that
normally flood could become death traps. Do not cross any flooded
area. Turn around don't drown.

That's just hard to swallow.

I hope it isn't this bad when the "worst" reaches us.

At least for the Georgetown-Round Rock-Austin-San Marcos area ... appears our tornadic threat is lessening as the cold front/dry line plows east. Temp dropped 15 degrees here in town in the last hour. Heavy rain right now with some thunder.
Areas east and northeast ... however ... batten down the hatches!
Y'all be safe

It looks like you got some pretty good rain in the Austin area and escaped the severe weather. As for the hillcountry, we picked up a trace of rainfall. Oh well, maybe next time we will get a good soaker.

Yes double D, we did get some good rain ... close to 1.5-2 inch range in some areas here. Sorry for y'all ... the Hill Country needs rain, too! Not much severe here.
