yeah, looks like the big outbreak of severe weather never really got going in this area. Seems like we may be ok after all.

The only real issue will likely be some of the quick cleanup from some of the minor wind damage caused by today's high gusts. Likely a few small limbs down here and there, but no serious problems.

I am not going to write off the severe potential completely yet though since we are still under a tornado watch until 2am.

BTW: This incoming line of storms will likely be capable of a few high gusts (35-55mph). However, once it passes things should really start to quiet down and it will begin to cool down as well. The low to mid 70s right now will be low to mid 50s by morning.

Jen & Yankee...I don't know how the storms always miss you guys. Y'all should come visit me...they never miss me anymore. I've got a new lake in my front yard...we could have a "pool" party.

...and it's still raining!

Yankee - you notice that little "break" in the squall line out west right around Katy? That break is about where the line will hit The Dome!

Yep - same here - just stepped out again and noticeably cooler. How far behind is the NWS radar anyway? Looks like you should have gotten a couple drops out of that line anyway. Not a blasted thing here under the Dome!

I am getting a decent outflow boundry coming through ahead of the line of showers/storms right now (40mph+ gusts) but overall it is nothing too impressive compared to what could have happened. I think those of us in the Houston area really lucked out considering we could have been looking at a really severe squall line right now with high winds, hail and tornadoes.

I'm convinced it's never going to end here. Just when I think I'm going to get a little break, more develops and trains right over me. This has been going on for hours. We've gotten a ton of rain.
