External hard drives
Anyone have one? I am thinking about getting one and do not know if they are worth buying.

If for backup make sure they come with software to automate the backup..many don't and the windows backup is weak.. I suggest them for backup all the time versus burning CD disks which doesn't work to smooth. Overall they work fine though.. for storage and backup. Keep in mind they fail like any other Hard Drive and you can lose your data if your using it for storage.

250 should be more than enough... unless you plan on saving plenty of full-length movies.
I've had a 120GB external hard-drive for a couple of years now. I have it set up to my desktop, but have it set that my laptop can easily utilize it. That way, I don't need the same files on both computers. It's great.
