It looks like we might get a good soaking and then some next Wednesday and Thursday. The gfs has been (somewhat) consistent on showing some decent QPF amounts (1-2 inches of rain for Central Texas). It looks as though El Nino is coming through for us.

Nice little rainfall event, eh? We got between 1 and 1.5 inches of rain here in the Austin metro area. I noticed the Hill Country received -- in some places -- nearly 2 inches!

I am guessing (didn't check my gauge this AM) about 1 to 2 here in the Corpus area as well. Some was wind blown rain some I am not sure how accurate my gauge is. Nice, soaking rain. It would be nice to get one or two of these types of events more often in the spring for the farmers and ranchers

Thats what I call a Texas size soaker where much of the state got some much needed rain. I hope we can get a couple more of these type systems (with some cold air to go along with it). :)

I am so happy for y'all out in the Hill Country for finally getting some badly needed rain! Was it enough to get some of the creeks running again?

Could we see some heavy rain on Wednesday? It looks like the models are bringing in some decent QPF in here on that day...we shall see.

OK, looks like an active period ahead for most of us in Texas, including central and south central Texas. Thought I would bring this back up and encourage postings as the event unfolds.

The storms are really starting to fill in around the hill country and it's looking like it might be a busy night. We are finally going to get the much needed rain, but I could do without the severe stuff though. It seemed like last year we had hail with every storm that came through Fredericksburg.

Good point double D. Yes, we had several hail storms as well last spring.

We have a few golfball-sized hail-producing storms now just west of us (Blanco and Burnet counties). Looks like a wild night!

I know ... I can't keep up with all the warnings right now!!

Starting to get cloud-to-ground lightning here in north Travis County. I see some heavy stuff out by you as well, double D. Stay safe.

Well, it is looking like the severe stuff might be winding down a little, but know we will have to worry about flash flooding. I hope people listen to the local media in the morning to see if there is road closures due to the heavy rain.

I got over 1 inch of rain this morning in Corpus. :D

Just what we needed after 6 weeks of almost nothing.

The yard should green up nicely now. Perfect timing for the new yard stuff I planted on Saturday too.

Can't speak for Wimberley ... but do know that creeks in my part of north Travis County were near or above bankful.

Got about 1.50 inches with this part of the event.
