Incredible Video of Meteor Breakup Over Denver Today

#1 Postby SamSagnella » Thu Jan 04, 2007 12:03 pm

Hey guys, saw this amazing video on DrudgeReport of what appears to be a meteor or a piece of 'space junk' breaking up over the Denver metro area in the pre-dawn hours of this morning. The video linked below was taken by the local Fox affilliate's traffic chopper and believe was broadcast live during "Good Morning Denver" today. This is absolutely amazing!

I think I know what happened here. That link isn't all there. Just click on it and delete the part that says "/vide...653/index.html". That will take you to the main page of the website, from there just go to the second story on the slideshow to the right.

There are some that are designed to disintegrate on re-entry and this is likely one of those. Generally that applies to a rocket that is not designed to carry humans, but equipment.

Yep...a Russian rocket rained down on portions of America today...the good news is that, while pieces hit the ground from it, no one was hurt...was it just me or did the break-up look a tad like the Columbia on reentry? *shivers* thats what it reminded me of...
