Atlantic Water Temps

Could anyone give a comparitive analysis of water temps in the Atlantic at this time in relation to previous years especially 2005 which saw the unprecedented busy cylcone season?

NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE KEY WEST FL
900 PM EST SUN JAN 7 2007

...SEA WATER TEMPERATURES MUCH ABOVE AVERAGE...

THE WARM WEATHER OF THE LAST SEVERAL WEEKS HAS ALLOWED SEA WATER
TEMPERATURES TO CLIMB TO WELL ABOVE AVERAGE THROUGHOUT THE COASTAL
WATERS ADJOINING THE FLORIDA KEYS. AT 800 PM EST...THE FOLLOWING SEA
WATER TEMPERATURES WERE RECORDED BY VARIOUS AUTOMATED PLATFORMS
AROUND THE FLORIDA KEYS AND ALONG THE FLORIDA REEFS:

KEY WEST HARBOR...... 78 F
SOMBRERO KEY LIGHT... 80 F
LONG KEY LIGHT....... 78 F
MOLASSES REEF LIGHT.. 79 F
USF GULF BUOY 42014.. 75 F

AVERAGE JANUARY SEA WATER TEMPERATURES AROUND THE KEYS RANGE FROM 69
DEGREES IN THE GULF OF MEXICO NORTH OF THE LOWER KEYS TO ABOUT 75
DEGREES ALONG THE FLORIDA REEFS. THEREFORE...THE CURRENT SEA WATER
TEMPERATURES ARE RUNNING ABOUT 5 TO 9 DEGREES ABOVE AVERAGE. THE
LAST TIME SEA WATER TEMPERATURES WERE THIS WARM IN JANUARY WAS IN
1993.

YOUR LATEST NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE FORECAST CALLS FOR ANOTHER WARM
DAY MONDAY...FOLLOWED BY A WEAK COOL FRONT MOVING THROUGH LATE
MONDAY NIGHT OR EARLY TUESDAY. A BRIEF COOL-DOWN IS EXPECTED TUESDAY
AND WEDNESDAY...BEFORE TEMPERATURES RISE ABOVE AVERAGE AGAIN BY NEXT
WEEKEND.

Certainly the anomalies in the Atlantic are above normal being early January.Look how the Eastern Atlantic is right now.Let's see as the months go by,how those anomalies evolve as Summer and the 2007 Hurricane Season come closer.
