BCS Championship Weather Here In Phoenix

#1 Postby azskyman » Mon Jan 08, 2007 7:58 am

No matter who you are rooting for. No matter if you care at all. The BCS Championship game here in Phoenix (actually the western suburb of Glendale) has enjoyed some great weather all weekend, and today will be the BEST yet.

Afternoon conditions will find temperatures in the low 70's (60's at gametime) and plenty of sunshine and light winds. Tempers may flare over the game itself, but it won't be because of the weather. The roof will be open, and the pregame show will include a flyby of a B1 just to get the fans even more cranked!!

Out for my morning walk yesterday, OSU and FSU fans were in evidence. Caps and sweatshirts proclaiming their loyalty were obvious. But what struck me the most was the smiles on their faces as the warm winter sun took the chill off the 36-degree low on Sunday morning.

While half the fans will be disappointed by the outcome, none of them will be disappointed by the weather that surrounds it!

By the way, at 4-figures for a ticket, I won't be going. But here's a shot of the inside of the stadium from last fall when my sons and their wives took me to a Cardinals game. Can you tell which game it was by how we're dressed? It lets you know that you can take the weatherman and his family out of the Midwest but you can't take the Midwest out of the weatherman and his family!

Thankfully, the weather will be nice here as well. I was hoping early on that it wouldn't be a rainy week here because it could affect my satellite reception and my ability to cheer on my Gators!

At least SOMEONE won in the new stadium...it's HIGHLY unlikely the Arizona CARDINALS will EVER win a game in the multi million $$ stadium :hehe:

Steve, Let's hope that the Bears fare better than Ohio State! :)
