Prayers and warm thoughts from my keyboard out here in the desert Southwest. The medical teams that evaluate and care for premature children these days are among the best, and so with some spiritual guidance, support of friends and family, and a team of people who will keep an eye on Caleb around the clock, concentrate some energies on your Jenny who will need a lot of support too!
We're pulling for your family in all the ways that we can.

Here is a copy of today's email update:
It's been several days since my last email so here's a quick update:
No major changes yet. The doctors now say Jenny has a good chance of being there for awhile without labor (barring an infection, etc.). Today they told her she was the "best patient". Jenny is really being a trouper and doing everything they have asked. They said this weekend I can wheel her outside for some fresh air and sun which she is really looking forward to.
The last ultrasound was on Tuesday and everything looked good. His eyes and pupils showed-up nicely in the last ultrasound - an indication he is progressing nicely. Every fetal heart monitor looks normal and every contraction monitor is still negative. Baby's gestational age is now at 26 weeks and on Saturday we will hit the 2-week mark since this all started.
Your prayers are obviously working as we have defied all odds and initial prognostications. Miracles do happen. The nurse last night was the same nurse we had in the Labor & Delivery room on Saturday 12/30. She told us she was surprised we were still there - it was wonderful to see us - and she was really worried about us that first night. She told us if we have come this far then we should plan to "stay awhile" which is what we are hoping...never thought I'd say that about a hospital but hey - that food isn't THAT bad and it's cheap
Thank you again for all your support! Each day is yet another blessing in the march towards the 32-week mark.
Thanks,
Jason

I will pray for baby Caleb for him to continue to strive and be healthy and well. It seems he has a healthy weight for being only 26 weeks. My baby cousin was born at 25 weeks weighing only 1 pound and 14 ounces. And now he is a healthy, smart, very entergetic 4-year old.
