I swear you would never know it by looking outside right now!!
It's almost always like this the day before an ice storm, it seems. I remember many storms of the past with unseasonably warm temps the day before.

Tell me about it. I've been sunbathing in my backyard, while sipping a mango punch mélange, admiring my humidityman I built earlier.

Take a look here:
http://www.hpc.ncep.noaa.gov/wwd/impactgraphics/
In the "Probability for Other Impacts" box click "Accum on Roads" and watch the java loop showing the ice moving south across Texas tonight/tomorrow with the 2nd surge of Arctic air. That orange color over Houston is 1/2 to 3/4" accumulations on roadways. It reaches northern Harris County tomorrow evening. Will be quite nasty across most of central and SE TX Monday night through Wednesday morning.

Take a look at these current AFTERNOON temperatures: http://www.weatherimages.org/data/imag226.html
Not often that it looks that cold to our north at 2pm! That's for sure.

yep ,I am at 75F now after starting the am at 56.....good idea to take advantage of the warm weather to cover your plants or any last minute outside details. Word of caution- its really hard to cover plants with high winds. Dang sheets just blow off....

I just came back home to finish some preps b-4 the storm. This is one of the last posts I read from the NWS earlier: "12Z RUNS IN SO FAR STILL HAVE THE FRONT
MOVING BACK TO THE NORTH TODAY WITH IAH WARMING INTO THE LOWER 60S ON
SOUTH WINDS AROUND 10 MPH. THIS WILL NOT HAPPEN! "
Crazy stuff. I see they have already backpeddeled from that! It's now 69F here in The Woodlands and I'm NW of the airport....
In other news, baby Caleb is doing well. Utterly amazingly, he was extubated today (breathing tube taken out). Almost unheard of for a 26-week preemie after only ~36hours from birth. He's doing extremely well. Prayers do work and miracles do happen. More later......
