35.6 in Baytown, and very windy. I have all the food I need for 2 days.
Glad to be back as the weather continues to look very interesting tomorrow. Out here in the hill country, we are expecting a couple of inches of snow...that is much better than ice. I hope I really get to see the white stuff!

Man, I was having withdraws.....

classic example is Brenham....was hoving around the 32 f mark most of the night. Frz rain and sleet drove the temps down to 27f....

I just found this forum last night and I'm absolutely engulfed in this whole situation. As an engineering student at UT, I'm directly seeing the effects of the psychrometrics and the air levels/altitudes. Thanks to all of yall for the information.
I wonder how things are going to end up after tonight, apparently there's a good bit of precipitation moving over the Austin metro area from Mexico over the course of the night. How bad do yall think it's going to get for us here in the UT metro area, especially with the temps expected to dip into the high/mid 20's tonight?

Yeah, I'm showing 31F on the west shore of the lake...34F on the east shore.

Now what fun is it having winter weather and no one to share it with???!!!
So glad S2K is back online ... whoo-hoo!
OK, Austin .... sleet and freezing rain continues. Most bridges and overpasses in the metro area and especially north and west are iced and dangerous. Some roads becoming icy. Precip continues and temperatures are below freezing.

Look at these potential snow model maps I saw on another forum!
Good luck and enjoy
I am in Del Rio, If that was to verify I would be in heaven. I think. Still waiting for stuff to fall out of the sky here.

hrivera, we're expecting some snow here in Austin with little to no accumulation here in Austin per local forecasts. This classifies as some of the coldest weather I've seen since I've been in the Austin area the last ten years. I'm just hoping the ice doesn't accumulate as it possibly could. I'm in the University of Texas campus area and it's well below freezing and have some rain right now, however the streets have not quite iced over. I know that the overpasses are about to, if not already, freeze over.
The city will be for sure shut down for all intensive purposes tomorrow, I just wonder how bad it's going to get for us here in the metro area. Any of yall out there have an idea on what scenarios to expect, especially with this precipitation coming in from Mexico over the course of the night? Thanks.

Anyone have any ideas on what to really expect in regards to the Austin area, some stations are treating it as severe, others just seem to be wanting to hype it without much true information other than "ice, ice, maybe snow, ice" My main concern is that I live in an older complex where our transformer(s)/ power lines are potentially dangered by tree limbs and I'm very concerned as to what scenarios of ice accumulations we can possibly expect. Thank you.

Hopefully it will pan out, and if it does...enjoy! I sure am jealous.
