Thank you everyone again for your prayers. As of this evening Caleb is doing just a good as he can be. He's hooked-up to all kinds of monitors, etc., but they have been steadily been decreasing his Oxygen content all day. The nurses say he's doing very, very well and his size is good. Poor Jenny on the other hand is having some bad pain from the C-section. She passed-out on me during the 1st restroom trip. Hopefully tha will get easier over time. Thanks again everyone.

Congrats!

Good luck with everything.

Congratulations! I will continue to pray that he improves and everything goes well. He's your little miracle. :)
Prayers for Jenny too....c-sections are very painful and the recovery time is a lot longer than a vaginal delivery.

You, Jenny and little Caleb are still in my thoughts and prayers. ((HUGS))

I was thinking last night that when Caleb is 18 years old and 6'2" tall and weighs 218#, you'll look back on this time and smile gently. ((HUGS))

Hey 'schlitz! I've been meaning to PM you about Jenny and Caleb and kept forgetting, so I'll chime in here. CONGRATS! What wonderful news that things are getting better. I've been praying for all of you and will continue to do so. I really do believe it helps. :D

As a veteran of multiple abdominal surgeries, I can relate to your dear wife. Although C-sections are fairly common these days, it doesn't mean they're any easier to recover from. She's gonna need lots and lots of rest - and food. It's amazing how many calories one burns up in the healing process.

Hang in there buddy - we're all pulling for you!

Thanks gang!!

I brought Jenny home today. Caleb is doing incredible. He went on CPAP and lasted for a day and today they switched him to a nasal cannula. He is basically breathing on his own now - completely amazing for someone who hits 27-weeks gestational tomorrow!! Hopefully the ice will clear so we can see him tomorrow. Otherwise, we're just enjoying being home and burning a fire.

Congrats!!!!!!!! How exciting. Thats amazing he is already on CPAP. Now all you have to do is wait for him to gain some weight and you will be able to bring him home too! I pray that everything keeps going as well as it has. He has done remarkable for a 26 weeker. Keep us posted.

Thanks for sharing your family with us. It's heartening to know that Caleb is growing stronger every day and the days are counting down till he'll be able to go home.

Well, after over two long months in the NICU, we brought home our healthy baby Caleb last night.

He is doing very well, and they do not expect any long-term complications with him other than the standard preemie stuff, such as an increased risk for RSV, etc. Basically, no nurseries for a while for him.

Amazingly, he is breathing on his own and he came home with no oxygen or monitors. I have lots of more details and photos on the web site, http://www.babycalebschlitz.com

Thanks everyone for your prayers - they truly made a difference for our miracle baby.
