This place will shut down tomorrow if there is any thing frozen coming down. So your job will either report in 2 hours late or not at all. School status will be questionable as well. Since they have used zero snow days, more than normal may cancel classes.

Feel free to PM with any way I can help or to answer any questions.

My thermometer says 32.0 in Cary. RDU is at 30.

BRING IT ON!

-IP (Light sleet) here in North Alabama. We're 4 hours from extreme western North Carolina. You might get something, too, eventually.

35.1 degrees at 9:53 p.m area under a Winter Storm Warning. Precip shield moving in from the south and west, still several hours away, but filling in nicely.

Jim Cantore on TWC said he believes the NWS is wrong and that the storm will be worse than expected, especially east of I-95.

Not often that he says outright that he thinks they're wrong. His thoughts on the matter were interesting.

That is interesting. I doubt we will have anything of significance though.

30.4 degrees with heavy sleet and snow mix, things turning white- mostly rooftops and cars so far. Setting up to be an ugly morning commute. Weekend holds promise of another round of winter precip for the area.

29.1 degrees at 7:47 eastern with freezing rain starting to accumulate, no recent snow or sleet here. Starting to get icy. Thanks PORTA, kids enjoy it, no school for Union County, NC today. Looks like you will get to play in it again soon enough.

I just want you to all know how frustrating it is that southern Texas and LA has gotten snow this week but eastern NC can't muster enough cold air to get any winter weather. I honestly think most every place in the country has gotten some form of winter precip. since our last round over 2 years ago.

Winter just getting active in this part of the country, you will have several more chances before it is done. Trust me, this mess we are getting right now is more nuisance than anything, but it is the winter we all so badly wanted.

:) :)

Nice little snow event. The radar is snow much more than we have actually gotten...should be turning to sleet or rain soon enough. 29 degrees outside.
