Question for the ladies

#1 Postby sunny » Thu Jan 18, 2007 2:10 pm

Although I know Dennis and David will look at this thread the minute they see the title :P

Have you ever heard of putting your brand new panty-hose in the freezer prior to wearing them? Supposed to prevent them from running?

That's also a new one on me. My mom used to say that adding white vinegar to the rinse cycle (hand washing) kept them from running.

Dunk them in water, wring them out gently, put them in a plastic bag, seal it, then freeze them.

Then, be sure to let them thaw and dry completely before wearing them. It doesn't completely prevent runs, but it supposedly helps strengthen the fabric.

Not like I wear them often enough to know if it really works. One pair can last me 10 years. :)

Actually it's an old one. Wet the panty hose, squeeze them out and put them in a freezer bag in the freezer for at least 24 hours!!!!! I'm so hard on pantyhose that nothing helps mine.

I never heard about putting them in the freezer. All I can say is they better be new and never worn.

LOL, I wear them a few times in a year - if they run, I can paint the run
with clear nail polish to stop it. If it's too-far-gone, go to the Dollar General
Store and get another pair!
