Thanks Brent - I don't like him either. Sorry Karan - you must know about an evil twin brother...... Or some convenient excuse for running over Mike - brakes giving you trouble there Orson? There is just something shifty about him and for Bree to just jump into another relationship so soon after the creepy Pharmacist, well, I think she deserves Orson. Yikes - probably said too much. The thing that bugs me the most about Orson - his hairstyle!

I still laugh at my daughter's comment to her sister - watch DH with us, it's a funny show, just about every character has murdered someone. Not everyone has indirectly or directed killed someone, have they? We could make a list.....lol.

Ok, I'm marking this date on the calendar. On January 18, Karan said that Orson is not the bad guy that everyone thinks he is. Remember---------

We will remember that date Karan. I'd like to be wrong about Orson! But mostly I'd like Rex back but that isn't going to happen (and I don't just want him as a deceased narrator, but that will be a nice change of pace though)!

Well, they have changed his plot a bit because the producers love the actor, so you could be right, but he's still bad. He ran over Mike and is trying to cover it up, and denied knowing Monique when they went to the morgue.

Maybe he didn't recognize her with her teeth!!!lol
I'm still thinking that Alma killed Monique. I think Alma will push Bree off the ladder and Orson will walk in at the wrong time/wrong place!!!

But he did know her. After Bree left the room he said in French, "Miss Me Monique"(I'm still wondering about the French connection). I'm starting to believe Alma did kill Monique though(why would she keep her teeth?), but I don't think Orson is totally innocent. When he went over to confront her in Sunday's episode she said "does she know what you did to Monique?" and he did not deny it, which makes me think he's guilty, but that maybe Alma was in on too. I'm confused.

and I should mention, while I can't like Orson, I do hope his character sticks around for awhile. He is the center of the mystery and I do find him interesting.

New spoiler for what should be airing February 18th(tonight is the last new episode until the 11th). Next week is a repeat from October 22nd and February 4th is the Super Bowl on CBS, ABC is airing a movie.

Episode 3.15: Title Unknown
Airdate: February 2007

01/21 - A psychiatrist drops by Orson's hospital room to get to the bottom of why he got injured. After an accident, Gloria will need new living arrangements. There is a switcharoo at the hospital between Mike's and Ian's wife's belongings, which will have Ian not happy when he finds one shiny round item... Lynette gets angry when the wrong chairs are delivered to the restaurant.

Hmmm.... the Orson thing is interesting and confusing. It's about time Ian learned just how close Susan/Mike were.

Tonight: Gloria is back and Ian's wife Jane dies. Bree punches Alma in the face after she finds Orson and her in bed together.

OMFG... Alma and Gloria are SO evil and I love it.

Since it's revealed Jane had an affair and Ian knew about it(5 years ago, hasn't she been in a coma about that long?), I'm wondering if her "accident" was really something "deliberate".

Awwww at Tom and Lynette.

More later from earlier in the show.

Good episode. However, I can't believe I'm saying this but the entire Bree/Alma/Monique/Orson storyline, throw in a miscarriage and an evil ploy to concoct another pregnancy is so cliche soap opera! I saw it coming a mile away. You watch - Orson couldn't perform but it sure looked like he did. My daughter was cringing during that entire scene and I kept saying - oh please.....

Sorry, but I honestly expected the DH writers to have a little more originality than that!

I started watching daytime soaps back in the 70s. Progressed to nighttime soaps and finally, gave them all up. That is until DH came along. But at times DH felt different than your typical nighttime soap opera. Almost surreal/Twin Peaks substance. Tonight's ep was pure Soap Opera 101.

Tonight, it just didn't. Sorry to drag down the vibe but that whole Gaby and Zach storyline - same deal. I expected Gaby to say she felt obligated to Zach's "mother", Mary Alice and that is why she's being nice to him.

Still, you gotta love Tom and Lynette. She remains my favorite wife.

But we thought Zach was messed up - that little evil Kayla is fitting right in! LOL

Kayla is a little devil, even worse than her mother I think. But look what happened, now Lynette and Tom are working together, so it really didn't make things worse.

Zach thinks he's going to marry Gabby? Good luck with that.

The preview(for 3 weeks from now, ugh)! I guess we know how Bree will wind up on bedrest(and written out of the show for a few episodes?) and Ian proposes to Susan? He doesn't waste any time does he? Something's fishy about him and I can't point it out.

I've got to run but later I'll try to post the TV Guide commentary today. It will be interesting to read b/c I still have this opinion - last night's episode was so soap opera cliche, it didn't even feel like a DH episode! I expected more........and basically, if you've watched any soaps, you can now predict what will come. Alma will not be carrying Orson's baby, but will pass it off as his, Gaby will blindly go into a "friendship" with Zach that will border on the creepy, he'll take her hostage somewhere along the line, with a Minister at the ready (white gown too), until Carlos rescues her. Little Kayla will be step-child from you know where, etc. We need Andrew to save the day! Where was his wisdom last night? You know, him being so street smart now. He should have seen thru Alma and saved his mom from seeing that spectacle......ah, but he's a teenager. And there you have it.

Can you tell, I'm still disappointed this morning? he he

And oh yeah Brent, I don't trust Ian either. There is something off about him and I can't quite put my finger on it. Writers are probably angling for a Mike/Susan reunion anyway. Ian is just temporary.

Desperate Housewives
by Dave Anderson

January 21, 2007: Come Play Wiz Me

After last week's laugh-filled hour, tonight was a bit of a letdown as far as the humor level goes. This doesn't mean I didn't like this episode — I just enjoyed it less and I am in agreement with those of you who are starting to get tired of the Alma story line. When oh when will we get to see Monique in flashbacks again? At least we know that those teeth are actually Monique's as expected and we found out what Alma was injecting herself with — hormones so she'd get pregnant with Orson easier. Speaking of which, how about Alma giving Orson both sleeping pills and Viagra so she could rape him while he was passed out? I do give the writers (Valerie Ahern and Christian McLaughlin) credit for making references to Viagra without actually mentioning it, like Alma saying she gave Orson something "to keep the part of you I need nice and perky." That was pretty creepy when Gloria mentioned how much she wanted a grandchild while Alma got ready for her night with Orson by revealing the sexy nightgown she was wearing. The creep-fest got much less creepier when Gloria left the room to give them privacy. Contrary to what was suggested in last week's previews, Bree did not fall for the Orson-in-bed-with-Alma scenario. Bree figured something was up. When she couldn't get Orson out of bed and then saw the liquor on the table across the room, Bree put two and two together, checked under the covers and saw that something was indeed up: "You raped my husband!" Good thing Bree didn't bring her gun with her — she had to get her frustrations out by simply knocking Alma out, followed by a quick call to Andrew: "Come over right away...and bring the wheel barrel!"

So Ian's comatose wife Jane is now dead. What excellent timing for Susan to find out from Jane's best friend Erica (Amy Aquino) that Jane was having an affair with a dude named Ted. Certainly made Susan feel way less guilty about dating Ian. It looked as though Susan really meant it when she told Mike she couldn't see him anymore, even now that he's out of prison thanks to Zach (I'll get to Zach and his mop-top later). You can tell Mike really loves Susan now so something tells me he's not going to stop those feelings. And with Mike out of prison, will Edie want him back? Maybe that's why I didn't enjoy tonight as much as last week — there was no Edie!

It did not surprise me for Lynette to quit her job to become Tom's restaurant manager. All it took was her son Parker's look of utter disappointment after he heard Lynette tell her boss Ed she'd be back to work on Monday. She and Tom do make a great team so we'll just have to see if the Scavo Pizzeria is a success. Of course Lynette has no problem that she has to "sleep with the boss." Earlier, I liked that Mrs. McCluskey encouraged Kayla to apologize to Lynette for not going to the street fair, but demon spawn Kayla just had to spill the beans to Ed about where Lynette was.

OK, can we talk about Zach's hair again? It seems as if it got even longer than last week. Every scene Cody Kasch was in, I couldn't really concentrate on what was going on plot-wise because I was so distracted by his Jaclyn Smith-like hair. And what kills me even more is that no one on the show is calling him on it! Even when Zach visited Paul in prison, Paul complimented him on his looks (?!) and said: "Your mother would be proud." Yeah, right. Luckily, Gabrielle is not attracted to Zach. Even with all his money, she still didn't want to give him a real kiss goodnight. Loved Gaby's line after Zach tried to turn the kiss into something bigger: "Kiss my lips, not my esophagus!" You'd think he'd get the hint, but it looks like Zach's totally obsessed, especially after he indirectly referred to Gaby as his "future wife" to Paul (uh-oh...I'm picturing him saying "I won't be ignored, Gaby!"). I was hoping Zach would abide by Paul's request for money to hire someone to track down Felicia — now there's someone I miss.

Heads up for next Sunday — ABC is airing a repeat. Those carefully-worded coming attractions were actually for two weeks from now. The announcer said: "Coming up on Desperate Housewives" rather than "Next week on..." But here's the thing: the SAG Awards are on next Sunday on both TNT and TBS at the same time as DH and the cast is deservedly up for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series (and Felicity Huffman is up for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series) so, for that reason and that reason alone, I'm glad it's a repeat. See you in two weeks

So... after a 3-week hiatus the show is back this Sunday for 2 reportedly amazing episodes(major plot advancement for sweeps). This Sunday(there was a really good promo during Lost tonight): Bree's departure due to Marcia Cross's pregnancy with twins and her bedrest(she falls off a ladder, this is seen in the promos). In addition, Mike will remember Monique(and Orson) and says that he knows he didn't kill her(there's a clip in the promo of Monique saying "I thought you'd never get here"), then he confronts Orson and they have a fight. Meanwhile, Gloria is somehow in the hospital. Not sure what happens with Alma, but Bree tells Orson about her raping him and he asks that he wasn't conscious, to which after hearing that's the truth says "how reminscent of our marriage". LOL. Next Sunday there will be a huge ending to the Orson/Gloria/Alma storyline that will tell the entire truth of what happened(apparently the Monique mystery will wrap up), and apparently someone will die unexpectedly and suddenly(the episode is running 3 minutes late, 2 minutes longer than normal). Also this Sunday: Susan goes crazy at Jane's funeral after hearing some women talk about dating Ian. She tells them they are already together and it does not go over very well at all. Later Ian proposes to her. Tom and Lynette fight over something regarding the pizza place, surprise, surprise. The promo showed Edie flirting with him(I don't know what that is about), but it is Edie.. Gabby has a man over and gets close to him, but Zach is apparently stalking her and can see them inside the house. Creepy.

The first episode back in March(not sure of the date yet, but the 25th of February is The Oscars on ABC so it is defintely pre-empted then, and then sweeps are over) will focus on the men. I guess it's the perfect time for that since Bree will be gone.

I think that's all for now.

I wonder if that will be the one that Rex will narrate instead of Mary Alice.

Preview clips for tonight:

Bree tells Orson about what Alma did. So NOW she wants to go to the police after the evidence is mostly gone? I can't figure out why she didn't call them when she called Andrew.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HfohcJZaT-g

and another... a Mike/Monique scene. It's revealed that SHE wrote Mike's
phone number on her hand, which is the whole reason Mike was arrested for her murder in the first place. Orson/Gloria/Alma are looking more and more guilty...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z_dDllHJ63I

and a general promo:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0hH_cPXZyG4

and FWIW... there will be a new episode on March 4th. That may be the episode focused on the men with Rex narrating. Not 100% sure yet.

Brent - my daughter and I rented Season 1's first 4 episodes last night. We had a DH marathon of sorts. Now with a Winter Storm Watch posted for our area, we want to rent the next 4 episodes. She didn't watch with me back then and wanted history on the characters. And honestly I had forgotten some of the details - Mrs. Huber (or was that Hoover?), Paul Young, Gabby, etc. Of course I remembered Gabby fooling around with John, but I had forgotten how controlling Carlos was back then (I like him now though), Lynette was one harried and funny mom, Mike was in the picture from pilot on, Edie was conniving from the beginning, and Bree was even more perfect back then if you can believe it. And Rex - I miss him the most! He was the sane one in that Van De Kamp marriage and yet he cheated on her......all of these characters seem messed up but we love them just the same don't we? he he

Another thing I noticed is this - each actress seemed to have more crows feet, fine lines, dental flaws but now when you watch, you can tell they're all in the money now. They probably all have very expensive facial cream lines, not to mention makeup, porcelin veneers, etc. Not exactly facial work done but you can tell they look better now.

Anyway we are enjoying watching these early episodes.

We cracked up when Bree hauled Andrew's rear out of the strip club. And my daughter had to ask yet again - isn't he gay? I sometimes think he experimented to shock Bree. But then decided he was in fact gay.

I knew it! Mike's innocent and Orson killed Monique. Poor Bree.

Edit: Well it seems it was a team effort. Alma wants to go to the police but Gloria doesn't, and because she mentioned it locked her in the attic. LOL! The Hodge family is psycho. RUN BREE!

So I'm guessing Bree's fall is no accident and is setup by Alma/Gloria to try to kill her. :grr:
