I assume it will be the English pronunciation, since it didn't replace a Spanish name. I wouldn't be surprised to hear it pronounced both ways though.

I would say the English pronunciation. I have a bit of a questionable vibe off of this name, if anything because I know a girl named Andrea. She's one of the wildest people in the world, guaranteed!

Oddly enough, I thought about that just after posting in this topic. I knew someone would do that.

Andrea should be pronounced the English way.

I think Melissa will be the big one. It is my wife's name and if it is anything like her it will be filled with hot air and just won't go away. I feel bad for who ever she hits, she will be relentless. :D

Gabrielle stands out to me.

Andrea and Rebekah sound nasty

Chantal has a stange aura around it too.

Andrea replaces Allison. Chantal hit Upper Texas Coast in 1989 and it was real nasty.

Dean & Erin...just a feeling...one will threaten florida or cuba and then the gulf coast, and the other will roar through the caribbean then into the yucatan, head into the bay of campeche, and make another landfall in mexico or south texas

Well, assuming this year starts off slow- slower than average in fact, I wouldn't really be surprised if Barry doesn't show up until the late July/early August timeframe, anything from Chantal to Jerry one of 2007's 2 strongest hurricanes, a big CV storm. La Nina might show up by late September. Jeez, I hope not...if it does the other monster- closer to home in the GOM or Caribbean- could likely form between Ingrid and Olga. I'd be willing to bet on a flurry of mid-Atlantic fish towards November.

Lorenzo will cause alot of rain, but it won't be all that strong.

Gabrielle, Ingrid, and Jerry will be bad ones. Humberto and Karen will be monsters.

My wife's name is Karen and I have a daughter named Erin. I remember there was a Hurricane Erin in 1995 around the time my daughter started walking and it spawned a lot of jokes around our house. As to which if either will be worse I plead the 5th.

I pick Felix...That is the name of the cook in our cafeteria at work and he is really fast! (He talks a lot too, so may just be a bunch of hot air!) lol!

I say Ingrid. A sub-900 monster in the Caribbean and Gulf.

you guys will be watching from your safe computer desk....

I'll be the one INSIDE these monsters with other members of the Hurricane Hunters. The larger they are... the MORE work for the crews.
