Snowed in and STRANDED

#1 Postby azsnowman » Sun Jan 21, 2007 6:28 pm

This is only the 4th time I can remember that we've been TOTALLY isolated from the outside world....just hope to HADES we don't LOSE POWER

ALL roads, US 60, US 260, ST. HWY. 73, ST. HWY. 77 are CLOSED in both directions....

At least I have PLENTY O' BEER, CIGARETTES and wood for the WOODSTOVE. Current temp. without the wind, 21°...snowfall rate 3-5" per hour and the main center of the system is JUST now setting UP over ME!

I know you guys need the snow though to continue the recovery, however much there has been, from your drought over the last many years.

ASOULETLY....as I said, I've got PLENTY of beer and smokes on hand, wood for the fire and I DO NOT have to WORK tomorrow 8-) Since I was promoted to Criminal Investigations, I don't HAVE to PATROL anymore "WAAAHOOOO!"

I saw where the SAINTS LOST     I am SICK about that

David Brother, yeah...we had a KILLER monsoon season this past summer, 22" of rain and NOW ALL this snow "SHOULD" put a decent DENT into the drought! I'm just afraid this monsoon season will stink...normally after a moderate El Nino the monsoons STINK...we'll see!

More importantly, good to know that moisture is plentiful in your region!!

Hey there Dennis. After some midday sunshine today, we had some clouds roll in, a clap of thunder sent the neighborhood kids indoors, and then, and THEN, it started snowing. 30 minutes of GIANT snowflakes!

Who says the desert doesn't have interesting weather!!

Be safe up there!

How much snow do you have? I'm looking at the NWS reports right now and it says 10 inches at Pinetop, with an additional 12-20 inches expected! Enjoy your snow!

As soon as my camera warms up I will....I left it in the CAR last night and with 12° this morning PLUS a NE wind of 19 gusting to 24, things are a LITTLE frozen

Things are looking brighter this morning....plows FINALLY started at 0200 this morning, only THING, I've now got a 3 FOOT birm in front of my driveway!! WHY do they DO that? I am on the ONLY one (that counts "LOL!") on this side of the road, the idiots next door dont COUNT...and instead of pushing it to the OTHER side, they pile it up in front of MY driveway...I work for the POLICE dept, I need to get out lickity split in case of an emergency, I'm a city employee just like THEY are!!

Working for the police department you'd think they'd send someone to shovel your driveway for you  .

I certainly hope it is chipping away at that deficit.

I'm sure that it's going to take several more good winters and decent monsoons to take care of it. I'm just so glad to see that you are finally getting that rain!
