Computer help-weird graphic, system checks out

#1 Postby angelwing » Sat Jan 27, 2007 9:39 pm

The hubby gets a graphic as soon as he loads his PC that says NTkrnl secure suite. I looked on google and he did also and all we find is a program called this. The issue is we don't have this program, now he just did a msconfig and one of the startuip files has a checkmark and the name is missing. We're wondering how to get rid of this. He just reformatted a few weeks ago and it was running great and this just started yesterday. The lastest program that he installed was PcCillin and there is no trojan, viruii, etc. He just told me he can't find this anywhere on his computer, not in the start menu, folder, etc

How do we get rid of this? Or is an indication of another problem? We googled till all hours and can't find out.

Thanks in advance!
Mary

NTkrnl is part of the base OS. You might want to try recovery repair utility that came with 2000 and XP. This should fix the problem he has with booting.

Mary, I did a quick internet search and it seems that NTkrnl secure suite may be a worm. Also, your checked box in msconfig leads me to think this is correct. I would recommend starting by downloading ewido (can find it on google and its free), make sure you update it after you install, then run it. There are a couple of other programs I like to use, as well, as no one program seems to clear all spyware/malware/viruses.

Feel free to email me if you like. I check my hotmail often.
