there was a story here not too long ago about an 18 year old guy who had impregnated his 15 or 16 year old girlfriend. she died either during the pregnancy or during childbirth and that's when he got in trouble for having sex with a minor...

No matter how much we try to say that the crime was a 17 year old having sex with a 15 year old...we all know he was put in jail b/c he was a 17 year old black kid having consensual sex with a 15 year old white girl. Sad

This is just a case of a total moron being in the position of prosecutor, and a jury who lacks all common sense

The jury must not be aware of the phrase "jury nullification". If you don't like the law throw it out. This is rediculous and a waste of tax payer dollars.

Personally ..if I had a 15 year old daughter and she was having sex id be just a little angry at the male too..AND my daughter. Most parents dont want their 15 year olds having sex.

I see what gtalum is saying (or at least I think I do). There's really not much you can do to the guy, legally speaking. Why would you go after and attack the guy?

Remember, it's not solely the guy's fault. It takes (at least) two to have consensual sex, and the guy isn't your responsibility... but your daughter is.

Don't get me wrong, I'd be highly upset if my 15-year-old daughter was having consensual sex with a 17-year-old... but I know that I need to stop and rethink what I'm teaching my daughter (or lack thereof).

I've never really understood the get-mad-at-the-guy attitude either when it comes to girls that age.

When I was in 10th grade (the grade in which you're 15), there were some girls who were having sex and some who weren't.

The ones who were having sex were making decisions just like anyone else would, knew what was good for them, and either used proper protection or just didn't care what was good for them.

And of the ones I knew personally they, without exception, continued the behavior into adulthood.

Cases of sex between consenting teenagers has been going on forever. That was the one difference I've found that sticks out in my mind.
