I say Gordon and Helene.

I don't feel like making a poll because there were very few hurricanes lat year.

I agree, there was not much of a choice last year. Hope we got a little better this year. I say personally Helene.

I liked Gordon. Helene was also nice.

The two storms from STS-115 aboard Space Shuttle Atlantis:

If I have to select the most outstanding hurricane of the 2006 season Gordon will win handsdown and for many reasons:

1. Everyone though Florence has ingested the disturbance to begin with.
2. Once formed, Gordon intensified continuously.
3. It reached Major status and remained there much longer than Helene.
4. The only major hurricane to at least in one point in its life threaten land.
5. Very well-defined eye structure.
6. Gordon gave life to the season after 6 "wimpy" storms.

Yes, I would have to agree with Gordon and Helene. They were beautiful, and two of my favorites. I always loved looking at satellite pictures of the two of them together.

Florence was lovely too, once she got going. And I'm sure I will be mocked for this, but I also thought Chris was beautiful.

The most beautiful hurricane of the 2006 Atlantic season was Hurricane Gordon. Hurricane Helen was the next best looking.

In 2006 worldwide Monica is my favorite.

During my brief 7 years tracking cyclones worldwide I have to say that first comes Katrina as my favorite, then Wilma, and in third place Monica.

Well, if we're doing other basins too, I will have to go with Daniel as the most beautiful for the EPAC. I swear, Isabel must have cloned herself.
