winds could have been higher, whcih si why I cited the HRD wind analysis of Andrew. However, there was no flight level data to confirm this

Highly unlikely,but..A tsunami in the Gulf @ the same time that a Katrina-type hurricane makes landfall in,say, NO? Is that possible,or will the water level effect of the tsunami affect the strenght of the cyclone? Hey,I smell a "Movie of the week" here :lol:
