Ice on Pittsburgh's Rivers

#1 Postby tomboudreau » Thu Feb 08, 2007 3:21 pm

NWS has put up some pictures of all the ice that has formed recently on the three rivers (Mon, Allegheny, and Ohio Rivers). This is the first time since I moved down here that I have seen this much ice on the rivers. Just wanted to share the pictures that they have posted on there website.

Hopefully, we dont have a rapid thaw this year or else, some flooding concerns could become a reality.

I remember visiting my grandparents in Pittsburgh. Their street was next to a cliff and you were able to see one of the rivers...it was always summertime so i never saw ice

Sure doesn't look that way. System for next week now looks like it will be surpressed to the south. Might see a light coating of snow from the system, but it surely won't be something to write home about.
