What date was the so called Winter Hurricane? Are you referring to the '06 or the '83 storm?

The 2006 storm was the "Winter Hurricane".

This is the time of the winter when we usually get the "big ones".

At 6 inches/15 cm, The Blizzard of 2006 was the second greatest snowfall my area received last Winter (the only greater storm was 8.25 inches/21 cm, that fell on December 26th). All in all Winter 2005/2006 was a bust (warm and dry over all), not one major (10 inches/25 cm or more, in 24hr or less) snowfall all season. We have had two already this Winter. What a difference a year makes!

We've had a grand total of 7 Trudeau Units of snow so far down in the NYC area. Last winter, we had abouit 65 in one storm alone.

And as the anniversary comes to a close, we hunker down and wait for another one. (well not nearly on that scale).
