I work for a school district and we're off today. I'm coloring my hair right now, as I type! Couldn't do that on a work day.....LOL

Some school districts in this area took away Pres. Day, b/c they used so many snowdays recently.

Just glad our district only used 3 (we're permitted 5).

I had a 4 day weekend, started last Thursday and ended on Sunday. Lets say a house fire puts a wrinkle into a lot of things.

Yeah, everything is fine. Microwave malfunctioned and filled the house with thick, heavy smoke Thursday night. Spent all day Friday cleaning and trying to air it out. Fire department was at the house for almost an hour Thursday night blowing the smoke out. Thank god for our dog. He was laying under the kitchen table and came running into the living room and hit my hand with his head when the smoke was beginning to billow in the kitchen. No idea why the smoke detector failed to work until a minute after I got the windows all opened up. By that time, we had gotten out of the house and called 911. Just way too much excitement for one night.

The schools around here didn't close for Presidents Day, and not because of snow days, Miss Mary. lol

However, they were out for MLK Day. Imagine that...

Out of school today for President's Day. It has been nice I must admit. We also didn't have to work on Friday but I did because the debate team traveled to Camdenton. We get four day weekends in lieu of a week long spring break every year. Unfortunately, due to the ice storm we lost one of those four day weekends and have added 5 days to the end of the school year.

I had college today, but did not on MLK Day either. Oh well. School is out ALL WEEK! It's OK... college is over 3 weeks earlier than school in Early May. :P

Kelly - sorry wasn't clear, some schools are open today. Seems to be half closed, half open. But several districts went today to make up for recent snowdays. I bet those kids are bummed!

I didn't have to work today, but that's because today ended up being my normal day off. (I usually work a four-day work week followed by a two-day weekend allowing my days off to change every week.)

Oh, I was just poking fun at the fact that we NEVER have snow days down here. :P

Flood days are much more likely.

Well, I have the day off due to President's Day. Picked my kids up from their dad's today, and my DD has a 101.1° temp, so I might have tomorrow off too, unless she improves quickly! My boss should love that!
