Refrigerator Magnets.........

#1 Postby Miss Mary » Wed Feb 21, 2007 8:22 am

What quirky, funny or cute magnets are hanging on your refrigerator?

I'll start.....

1. Ceramic Golden Retriever (obvious choice!)
2. Ceramic cat (since I still love cats but can't own one, daughter highly allergic)
3. Newport Aquarium (bet you didn't know the Cincinnati area has an Aquarium!)
4. A handmade pig face one, one of my daughters made years ago in pre-school. It's too cute to pack away!

And the strangest but best one (my daughter will confiscate it when she leaves for college, no doubt):

5. Still Pissed At Yoko!

Next.......

OTown, your refrigerator must look like one of those that will topple over forward from the weight of the magnets. My Mom's is the same way!!!

I have a lot of magnets, papers, reminders, etc. all over my fridge too. You can't see much of the actual refrigerator.

* a cute apple and you flip the bottom portion of it to clean/dirty for the d/w (I have a panel on my d/w and it won't stick there)

* Cozumel and Cayman Island magnets that are little feet with sand in them... other Cozumel, Cayman Island and Jamaica magnets

* various business ones like Kroger Pharmacy, Pizza Hut, Sears, CVS, etc.

* Entergy that gives the power outage number (it's kept in a corner on the side and I can find it in the dark   - used quite a bit down here, unfortunately)

* lots of picture frame magnets with friends and loved ones

* a little picture frame with a picture I took of Jon Bon Jovi at my first Bon Jovi concert a looooong time ago

* tons of other magnets holding funny comic strips from the newspaper, a dry erase memo board, magnetic holder thingy that holds a lot! etc. etc. etc.

* my favorite - a cross-stitch magnet that my niece made - it's a mouth opened and inside it says - GOOD MORNING, LET THE STRESS BEGIN

Refrigerator is spelled like that. Miss Mary, we really need to get Spell Check back. Just kidding.

I have cute kitty cat magnets. State of Mississippi, Santa Claus, milkshakes, several apples that have photos in them, a horse calendar, Bahama's, Cayman Island and Cozumel sand filled feet, Barbados sand filled feet, and a photo holder with all my animal photos in them.

LOL in my defense, I see it spelled both ways!

Wonder if it's a word similar to cancelled/canceled?

Anywho, thanks for the replies everyone......I also use plain old scotch tape to attach important receipts, sometimes they slide out from under a magnet, then the dog gets it and it's a goner!

Refridgerator is always wrong, and canceled is uniquely American (it's cancelled everywhere else).

As for magnets, I just have one that says "Same Sh-- Every Friggin Day."

a broccoli floret
2 stemmed cherries
a lobster

The best of the rest states, "A Spoiled Rotten Dog Lives Here!" :P

We need more magnets. Too many papers and too few magnets. The papers are constantly sliding down or falling off.

Ice box, I like that Karan! Easier to spell....;-)

Ed - we once bought magnets from a teachers supply store (Holcomb's), that were attached to clips. Each one a primary color of a stick child. They hold lots of papers and they never fall off the "ice box". LOL!!! But I didn't mention these b/c they are rather boring. We bought one for each of us, attempting to keep our individual papers straight. It didn't work but they do hold coupons, school papers tight and they never fall out.

Before Katrina you couldn't see my fridge's front door for the pictures, magnets and what have you I still had pictures that my kids made me in grade school and they are both in college. In fact, that is the way we identified our fridge after the storm from all the other five that were laying in one place were the magnets were still on the dang thing....can you say they HELD ON??? I had taken all the stuff down and have it in a suitcase but haven't had the heart to put them back up.

So now on this fridge we have 3 "Magnetic Clip" clips.

A law firm advertisement with Emergency Numbers that came off the phone book

A small 2007 calender from my Accountant

A "Snappy Lunch" that one of my kids got...it says on there it was mentioned on the Andy Griffin show and is located in Mt. Airy, NC

And a beautiful engraved stone 3-D picture of Shakespeare's Birthplace, Heritage House that Bud got in London when he went. He had it in his "drag a$$" box that he took with him when evacuating for Katrina.

Robi always told the kids to get a "drag butt" box and put what they couldn't live without in it and take it with them cause that is all the room there was to pack "toys, etc".
