Prayer Request
This is a little embarassing, but I'm still pretty shaken by it.
At about 530pm, I was taking a "number 2" and when I was done the water was blood red, and there was blood all over the loo roll. I freaked out, I had no idea what it meant or what was happening or will happen. I immediately told my mom, and she took me to emergency. I had really bad cramps in my gut, and a sharp sting feeling around "the area".
I waited for 2 hours in emergency and finally got in. They did an examination and turns out I have hemroids. I had no idea at my age I could get hemroids. I'm in quite a bit of pain right now, and they got me on 3 medications now.
Please pray for me, recently I started praying to God and I quit drugs. Maybe this is a warning from God or something, it's out of my control.

Anyone can get hemorrhoids and they are usualy caused by straining during bowel movements and too much pressure on the rectal veins. A varied diet, enough fibers and drinking enough fluids greatly decreases the chances of getting them.
Maybe it'll make you feel a bit better, but surgery is only needed when it's chronic or severe. I hope you'll get rid of them as soons as possible though.

Ouch indeed! Good advice, Dennis and George. I would suggest purchasing a plastic sitz (spelling?) bath seat. And soaking in warm water, with baking soda mixed in. Or Aveeno would work well too (a few tablespoons). I came home from the hospital after delivering my first baby with the sitz bath seat. It was collecting dust, until I had colon surgeries back in 1999. It sure came in handy and eased the discomfort I was experiencing then. You can find these seats at any large pharmacy.
Hope you feel better Mike.
Of all the over the counter GI type meds I've tried, I prefer a pediatric dose of Colace - just 50 mg. each evening. It's very gentle. So I'd suggest you ask your doctor if that would help you as well.
