Second child dies in Irving murder-suicide

IRVING, Texas (WFAA ABC 8) - A three-year-old boy police believe was shot by his father in Irving on Sunday night has died at Children’s Medical Center Dallas, the Dallas County medical examiner’s office said Monday morning.

The boy’s name was not released. His eight-month-old sister, who was also shot at the home in the 3100 block of Roanoke Drive, died from her injuries Sunday night. She was identified as Diana Medina.

Shortly after 6:30 p.m., police responded to a call to the home, where a male in his late 20s was lying in the front yard with a self-inflicted gunshot wound, Irving police Officer David Tull said. The man was later identified as Hector Rolando Medina, 27. Inside the one-story white home, officers found the young boy and his infant sister, both with gunshot wounds.
