#1 Postby skywarn » Mon Mar 05, 2007 1:07 pm

Their prediction for an active 2007 hurricane season has risen from 60% above the norm (Feb forecast) to 75% above the norm (March forecast).Their total numbers continue to inch up from their previous forecasts.

Technically it should be 17/9/4. Nice tracking season ahead if this holds.

Lets face it- the past 3 years have taught us that Mother Nature hates Florida, and parts of the Gulf Coast as well. Aparently, she likes the East Coast a little more now.

PS: to fact, begining of April.

I have read through it all and I cant find where it says the potential for which area of the US is most at risk. Where did you find the information there that indicates Florida is in trouble? Can anybody help me find it?

If the storm is coming in from the Atlantic Florida is doomed and so is Texas if it continues westerly.

What I dont like a bit from the outlook is how active the MDR area will be if all pans out like they say it will and of course that area concerns all of us that live in the Eastern Caribbean islands (Leewards,Windwards,U.S/British Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico). However,it also has to be of concern how they increase the landfall probabilities for the U.S. coastline.

If the subtropical ridge is in the same place it was last year, the main threats are to Bermuda, Atlantic Canada and the Azores...

If we see anything like a Charley storm that goes right through the middle of Florida, then yeah FL is doomed.

Weathe Emperor it may have not been stated, but were assuming by looking at the data, I'll give u 1, This big High Pressure in the Atlantic is what steers the storms and as u can see it stretches through caribbean and most of time stretching up to coast line of Florida up along near Northcarolina. right now there's high pressure over U.S that pushed High Pressure "Bermuda High" further away from land

if u like to see it daily: click on sea level pressure Analysis. Please note this website and many more was posted on sticky
