Folding Gun Knife????

#1 Postby Cookiely » Thu Mar 08, 2007 11:31 pm

I found a box with a folding gun knife in a tote filled with arts, crafts and sewing notions.
I have some questions. Is the knife used for anything besides a weapon? It has a holster to place around your ankle. Is this legal? Frankly it took me almost a minute to open it and seven or eight to figure out how to close it. I finally figured out you pull back on the hammer to close it but it took a lot of hand strength which I don't have. I've always been fascinated with knives, cooking knives, pocket knives, hunting knives. This one seems like a gag gift. It doesn't appear to have much of an edge to it but the point is quite sharp. My mother said throw it in the garbage can. I find it hard to believe that anyone would actually strap the thing to their ankle, Any police officer in his right mind would shoot first and ask questions later if he caught a glimpse of this thing. Is this a gag gift?

If it's what I think it is, I believe it's more of a novelty knife for collector's or a gag gift and also not so much a knife, but a dagger. I suppose it could be used as a weapon if you stuck someone directly with it.

I agree with Duckie that is more a collectors and novelty knife. If it is like the one they are selling on eBayHERE, then I think its worth holding on to. Ecspecially if you are into that kind of stuff. I think its nifty. :D
