I dont know... I am going to have to check it out... Hey duckie, were you working Sunday? We were at the beach where they have the horse rental (not sure what public access one it was) but anyways, the horse got testy and booted the kid off the horse and broke his leg.... they had to call the ambulance.... Just wondering if you heard about it... ?

We just got slammed too! Would guess the winds gusted to at least 45-50 mph. It got so bad with the wind and rain I could not see the house 30 feet south of me!!!

That cell was intense VB on radar!
We have an impressive bow moving into SW portions of the Houston-Galveston CWA.
Looks like Wharton, Matagorda, Brazoria, Galveston, Fort Bend, Harris and Chambers Counties will get the brunt of this one. Its not looking pretty on radar.

Yup, I was working -- one of the busiest Sundays in a while. But remember, I was in the ER in KY, not here. And I'm not with pediatric patients either. So, nope, I didn't hear about it. And considering how sad of a rag the Galveston Daily News is, it's no wonder I didn't hear about it.
You must have been way out on the west end near Jamaica Beach. I believe they have horses down there.
Oooh, just heard a loud rumbling! Nevermind, just an idiot with the bass too loud on his car stereo...and now, a car alarm going off because of it.

That area to the SW is looking awful intense. Even back as far as Laredo is starting to heat up...

AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HOUSTON/GALVESTON TX
930 PM CDT TUE MAR 13 2007
.DISCUSSION...
EARLIER STORMS HAVE PRODUCED A PRONOUNCED SURFACE BOUNDARY
GENERALLY SITUATED GENERALLY ALONG HWY 59. ALTHOUGH INCOMING
MODELS SUGGEST FAVORABLE AREAS GENERALLY NORTH OF I-10...THINKING
HERE IS THAT THE TRAINING HEAVIEST RAINS AND BETTER SHOT OF SVR WX
WILL OCCUR SOUTH OF THE AFOREMENTIONED BOUNDARY...AT LEAST FOR THE
NEXT SEVERAL HOURS AS THE SRLY H85 INFLOW WINDS INCREASE TO 30-40
MPH. LUCKILY THE STORMS ARE MOVING AT A GOOD CLIP...BUT ARE STILL
PRODUCING GOOD RAINFALL ACCUMULATIONS. EWD MOVING VORT CURRENTLY IN
THE BIG BEND AREA SHOULD ENHANCE OVERALL LIFT THRU THE NIGHT AS IT
APPROACHES. OVERALL...DIDN`T MESS WITH THE ONGOING FCST MUCH
EXCEPT TO REMOVE SVR MENTION ACROSS NRN COUNTIES AND A FEW MINOR
TWEAKS BASED ON LATEST OBS. DIDN`T HAVE MUCH TIME TO LOOK AT
TOMORROWS WX SO NO CHANGES THERE. WE COULD END UP BEING MORE
STABLE THANKS TO TONIGHT`S PRECIP (HENCE POSSIBLY LOWER POPS
DURING THE 2ND HALF OF THE DAY)...BUT WILL LET THE MIDNIGHT CREW
DEAL WITH THAT SINCE THEY`LL HAVE MORE TIME TO LOOK AT THE SITUATION.
LOOK FOR THE TOR WATCH TO BE EXTENDED EASTWARD INTO THE HOU METRO
AREA SHORTLY.
