We have an impressive bow moving into SW portions of the Houston-Galveston CWA.
Looks like Wharton, Matagorda, Brazoria, Galveston, Fort Bend, Harris and Chambers Counties will get the brunt of this one. Its not looking pretty on radar.
Darn lost part of the message. So I'm editing.
Looks like your area will get this in about 20-30 minutes.
We are getting round two now. Not as intense wind and rain wise, but more lightning this time.
Last time I saw it white out like it did here during the first storm there was a tornado going over the house(during Alicia). Scared me enough to get the wife and head for the hall!!!

according to radar, the second line has passed you. In fact, it has now reached my area. The reason you hardly noticed it though is because it lost most of it's punch as it entered the county and is now basically just an area of slightly heavier rains.Yankeegirl wrote:that second line still hasnt made it here yet.... still rumbling to the sw.... maybe its loosing its punch?

Looks llike about an hour or more of rain to go, but no more sqaull lines showing. Some of it to your West might be intensifying a little, but it is doubtful. I am still going to watch it for a while though.

Probably not. I would expect continued thundershowers over the next few hours with heavy rains and a few rumbles of thunder, but I think the severe stuff is over with west of I-10 (for the most part). There might be a slim chance we see some more strong activity tonight or tomorrow, but at this time it does not look too likely. This current MCS is working over the atmosphere.Yankeegirl wrote:i think it may have passed, but i still hear plenty of thunder towards the katy area.... are there more lines to move in after this one? One thing I am noticing is that the 0z GFS wants to re-develop precip. over the area tomorrow afternoon:

And so does the 0z NAM:

We could potentially still have a final round left to come before the upper low moves out...

Looks like there is some intensification of the area to the West going on. Nothing like before, but I'm still going to watch it for a wile longer.
