Good image for a camera phone. Looks rather ominous.

Get to work jschlitz! LOL

It's been storming pretty good up here in The Woodlands for a couple of hours now with more to come. I hear we have a cold front moving in in the next day or so with more storms?

the line rolled through here near the Galleria. Some gusty winds and heavy rain, but nothing severe. The main thing is WOW it feels downright chilly outside now!

Hey Jen,I did see where they upped the rain chances over night to 70%...Maybe they know something we dont?

Late Afternoon: Showers and thunderstorms likely. Some of the storms could be severe. Cloudy, with a high near 68. West wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%.

Tonight: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly before 10pm. Patchy fog after 4am. Otherwise, cloudy, then gradually becoming partly cloudy, with a low around 56. North wind between 5 and 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%.

AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HOUSTON/GALVESTON TX
351 PM CDT WED MAR 14 2007

.DISCUSSION...
THE MAIN PROBLEM OF THE DAY FOR THIS EVENING IS THE SEVERE AND
RAINFALL POTENTIAL. THE UPPER LOW WAS SPINNING BETWEEN DALLAS AND
HOUSTON EARLY THIS AFTERNOON. THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH LOOKS
GOOD FOR THE AFTERNOON AS THERE APPEARS TO BE ENOUGH INSTABILITY
AS SEEN FROM THE CUMULUS FIELD OUTSIDE OF THE THUNDERSTORM AREAS.
THE MSAS ALSO HAS LI/S FROM -4 TO -6 CURRENTLY. MODEL PW/S WERE
BETWEEN 1.3 AND 1.5...NOT ENOUGH FOR A FLOOD WATCH BUT ENOUGH
POTENTIAL FOR LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL. THE MODELS MAY BE A BIT
BEHIND THE CURVE AND FELT THAT THE BULK OF THE ACTIVITY WILL BE
ENDING EARLY THIS EVENING. HOWEVER...DID KEEP CHANCE POPS IN THE
EASTERN PORTION OF THE FORECAST AREA INTO THE EARLY MORNING HOURS.
TOWARD SUNRISE AM EXPECTING PATCHY FOG TO BE THE NEXT PROBLEM. THE
FOG SHOULD LIFT BY MID MORNING.

BEYOND TONIGHT...WENT BASICALLY WITH THE GFS. THERE DID APPEAR TO
BE SOME DRIER AIR MOVING ACROSS SE TX ON FRIDAY AND KEPT THE
SLIGHT CHANCE POPS IN PLACE. HIGH PRESSURE WILL BRING A DRYING
TREND OVER THE WEEKEND. KEPT THE RAIN CHANCES IN PLACE TOWARD MID
WEEK.

Looks like the worst is over, so I don't have to worry any more tonite about water invading the house. Light rain and thunder rumbling under the Bear Creek Dome right now. The Dome hasn't failed this badly in a looong time!

Wow! What a crazy drive home. I was smart enough to out of downtown at 3:30PM as the line of storms approached. Made to the Bay Area Park & Ride and into the car before the storm hit. While waiting to turn onto Highway 3 I was hit by a wall of wind and water. Everything began to flood immediately. Winds had to gusting 50MPH oh higher. Once on Highway 3 the visibilty was zero in tropical storm conditions. Good thing it was moving at decent rate. Once I got home I wanted to check the rainfall rate during the storm. I was blown away.

I had a max rainfall rate of 38.40!

Also recorded 44MPH gust from the N

[marq=right]INCREDIBLE KD!!!!! INCREDIBLE KD!!!!! INCREDIBLE KD!!!!! INCREDIBLE KD!!!!![/marq]

We got over 5" since the first storm last night. My guage overflowed(digital isn't working). Hopefully we will have some drying time!!!

We unfortunately got some water in our home. It was from the rain coming down too fast and our back yard not draining correctly. Fortunately it was only a little bit. I guess I am going to have to break down and get some things done to help alleviate the problem. It is not an easily solveable one unless I spend thousands and put in sumps and pump it.

Jason check your pm's.

Lots of rain today! I've been sick in bed all day (grrr), but when I was awake, I heard a lot of thunder and rain. I didn't even have the TV on, so I haven't followed it at all, other than hearing it all day.

Stay dry, everyone!

38.40 inches per hour in terms of rain rate? The rain was quite intense and coming down in sheets.
