Longhorn Steakhouses have some of the best steaks around here.

Ruth Chris and Morton's are really excellent. Wayyyyy overpriced but really, really good. The sides at Ruth Chris are hilarious. When you order a side of broccoli - - - you get an entire head of broccoli!!!!!! seriously Morton's bring you out the raw steak to let you select.

For really good steak and half way decent prices I like Outback.

We have a neighborhood grocery store that sells the best filet you can find. I much prefer to buy those, saute some fresh mushrooms, throw a potato in the oven, open a bottle of wine and stay at home and grill outside!!!

Pburgh, try buying the beef tenderloin at Sam's Club. I buy that and slice it into steaks and freeze them. I spend around $60 on the cut of meat but I get many meals out of it. We usually marinate and grill the steaks. They're so tender we can cut them with a fork.

Sam's does sell wine, at least here in Florida. It may be different in other states. And their beef is very high quality. I was truly shocked the first time I had a Sam's Club steak.

I, too, like to make my own steaks more than I like fancy restaurant steaks. IMHO I can make a better steak than Ruth's Chris (or any other restaurant) and it costs sooo much less.

I've been to Ruth's Chris and IMO Del Frisco's is far better.

I'm with you gtalum. I'd rather stay home and cook.
In Pennsylvania the you can't sell alcohol any place other than a State Store or a beer distributor . Only select State Store are open on Sunday!!!! It's crazy.

Don Shula former Miami Dolphins coach has a few restaurants "Shula's" and we made reservations for saturday night. Ruth's Chris was the other option as we have never been there and have heard all good about it. Thus far the best steak was a place called Manny's in Minneapolis MN.. Fantastic it was.. Cha..Ching!

Ack, state stores... Ohio has those too i think. In Florida, grocery stores sell beer and wine, and you can get anything else in standalone private (not state-run) liquor stores. The only stupid "blue law" we have is no liquor purchases before noon on Sunday. I like Arizona where you can buy it all in a grocery store at any time. :D

I'm originally from West Virginia and we are the same as Florida. The first time by brother came up from West Virginia to visit me in Pennsylvania, he came into my house with a big frown on his face and said "I stopped at the gas station down the street to buy some beer and they looked at me like I was crazy!!!!"
