precip is overspreading region a bit ahead of earlier estimates and temps are a tad warmer
which means western areas especially will see a longer period of rain before the turnover to snow around 9 or 10
and eastern areas may actually see as much if not a tad more snow since precip will arrive during a cooler time (nite)
thinking heavy precip reaches worcester around 8
boston 9-930 and that boston should turn to snow around 11 and pick up 2 inches or so with worcester and the hills of nw rhodeisland getting around 4 inches between 10 and 2 am tonite as the precip starts as rain for at least an hour or so before changing over
boston 1-3 inches rain then snow
worcester 2-4 inches rain then snow
providence 1-3 inches rain then snow
western mass 1-3 inches rain changing to snow before ending
sw nh 1-4 inches rain changing to snow
will update again around 8/830 as precip becomes heavier in se new england
winter weather event 3/24-25 south and central new england

update precip moving thru pretty quickly and the change over has occured over areas of eastern massachusettes from northeast parts down thru the southeast while areas in connecticut and western mass and even vermont are still rain. looks like worecster and nw rhodeisland will see up to 2 inches of snow while areas of northeast mass also mas see 2 inches however providence and boston should see somewhere between 1 and 2 inches overnite with light snow over the next several hours with occasional pockets of moderate snow especially south east mass

final totals worcester 4 inches of snow
cumberland rhode island 2.1 inches
peabody, ma 2.5 inches
generally speaking south eastern new england received 2 inches of snow from the event last nite
taunton 2 inches
hingham 2 inches
pepperell 2 inches
there could have been a pocket of heavier snows from raynham thru n. attelboro line and north from west of norwood thru brockton but no reports have come in from that area due to the fact the liquid precip that fell in this pocket was over a half inch of liquid compared to the .3 that fell in most other locations reporting
