Over the past 30min to 1 hour I have seen the radar show a max of 5 or 6 different tornados in Donley County, Texas.

The Storm Cell (BO) has been showing a Tornado for about 20 to 25min.

It should definatly be raised to high, and the situation is getting worse. Does anyone think it may be too late?

Man its kicking big time. Massive impressive supercells tonight. It was incredible seeing the dryline activate earlier....very rapidly. Very scary night for many people. Glad I am not downstream to one of those supercells tonight. I would have the family in the basement.

As to reports of Trucks flipped on the head, they have a reason not to upgrade. They underestimated the situation and don´t want to confess having made a mistake, maybe.

At this point we should have a high risk. The event is ongoing. Its only March so lets hope that April and May are not any worse. Quite a severe weather event tonight. I get the feeling of May 1999 with 41 tornadoes today. Thanks goodness this not occurring over very populated areas but pray for the rural families that are being impacted. Its been a scary night for everyone in the path of the tornadic supercells.

Personally I believe several tornadoes at EF3 intensity or greater and at least one EF5 tornado may have occurred tonight. The Bird City (Kansas), McLean (Texas), and Dundy County (Nebraska) cells had impressive hooks and structures. The Bird City (and Ness County) cell will likely be rated as an EF4 or EF5 tornado.

At least 47 tornadoes are listed on the SPC data site for the event.

It is too late for a HIGH - they should have upgraded at 01Z. Maybe the 06Z for Thursday will be HIGH...although to jump from SLGT to HIGH would be a giant step.

This just came out of nowhere! I am having to balance so much - this site, chats, SPC, Wikipedia...

Your damn right. Some kilometers more east and the situation would be disastrous.

Aye. They have hatched areas around the Omaha area and some areas to the south. Wouldn't surprise me if KC gets put into the hatched area. It was right between two areas that were hatched.

I think a huge jump is in order. The main threat tomorrow I think is farther west, such as DFW, OKC, Wichita, Topeka and Lincoln though...
