IAM's dog food testing

#1 Postby Lindaloo » Sat Mar 31, 2007 10:45 pm

I received this in an email this evening. For those of you who feed your dog or cats IAM's, take a look at the video link. If you support the inhumane way these animals are treated then continue buying IAM's.

"I HAVE SEEN THIS SO MANY TIMES AND JUST WANT TO MAKE SURE ALL YOU ANIMAL LOVERS KNOW OF IAM'S CRUELTY AS WELL.IF YOU FEED YOUR ANIMALS IAM'S, TAKE A LOOK AT WHAT YOU ARE SUPPORTING...THE CRUELTY THEY CAUSE IS DEVASTATING...."
THANKS,
BETH IN ILLINOIS

View at your own risk. Graphic content. The video cuts in and out as it goes to other parts of the testing facility.

I can only imagine and that's all I'm going to do. I can't watch something like that, but I'm glad that you brought it to everyone's attention Lindaloo!

I watched it and I saw nothing that this was an Iams lab. This could have been a lab for makeup testing or medicine testing for all we know.

Trust me Steph, you do not want to view the video. Just to give you an example of what is on it.. they have a Beagle lying on his back and the lab tech said that you have to check them every now and then to be sure they are still breathing. If not, then they need to "give them a whack" Then you have about 10 Beagles bunched together with their tongues hanging out and lying in their own vommit. Their muscle tissue has been removed and some of them can't bark because their vocal chords have been surgically removed.

There are known modern ways to test products. This old fashioned method needs to be stopped!

Tstormwatcher... I have been waiting for someone to make that comment. Sorry but it is an IAM's lab because PETA did a 6 month investigation on it. Second, I do not like the radical group PETA has become but when they video tape stuff like this (for good reason) then I pay attention.

If it is IAMS Tstormwatcher, they should be highly ashamed of themselves and NOONE should buy their product! Regardless, I can't believe that something like this still goes on! :grr:

Peta is the last group that I would trust. They have a very bad habit of spinning the facts. I would never believe anything they say. there was a case here in NC where several Peta employees were caught dumping dead dogs and cats in dumpsters. These were animals that were supposed to be adopted out, not euthanized. They are hypocrites to the max and they will scewer a story to match their propaganda. By the way, if you check the Iams site, they talk about this supposed lab film and then tell the facts.

Regardless, IAM's has admitted that this practice does go in in their facility but is not a part of their testing. It is STILL happening and I do believe that is the message that needs to get out there. FACT IS, it is happening by IAM's own website.

IAM's KNOWS it is happening and that is ALL I need to know.

Rather than focusing on her assignment she captured video not of the scenes of the socialization and enrichment activities she was being paid to develop and deliver, but of dogs and cats that were housed in the same facility but not a part of Iams studies.
