Happy V-Day! Looks like I'll be spending it alone....but I'll be in the confines of the halls, so all is not lost! The temp is now -5 and climbing! I see we have quite a complex storm system on the way. I've been tracking it and will give analysis later on. I gotta make a fire and get this place hoppin since our 'usuals' arent up and about yet! Have a 'lovely' Day!

The warm weather reminded me of the start of "you-know-what" season;
which made me think of ya'll. Just wanted to say hello.

Good morning (afternoon) everyone. It is dry for now here. How is everyone on this TGIF Valentine's Day?

Hope everyone enjoys their day with their significant other. I won't, because I don't have a sig other. :( Oh well, maybe next year. -- Joshua

Happy Valentine's Day everyone...

Mine was spent hugging a box of Kleenex and coughing my head off. :(
I've got a sore throat, all stuffed up, sneezing, coughing and fever sometimes, but not too high. I got bronchitis for the first time ever right after Christmas and I hope I don't get that again. It was horrible! Unfortunately, I'm getting that same bad cough like I had then. Hopefully it will all go away soon!

We got some rain tonight but it looks like the worst of it will be coming overnight and tomorrow. I'm not checking the rain gauge tonight but I'll check it tomorrow. It's a warm night here...cold front will be moving through tomorrow. I had to turn on my a/c today!

Talk to ya'll soon...I'll be here off and on because I don't feel like doing much work.

Thankfully, I spent the day alone; the wife and kids went out to eat and shop after school/college, which left the whole house to me, and glad of it.

I'm finding myself more and more desirous of solitude lately, and take any opportunity that avails itself to shuttle the lot out the door. Valentine's Day, indeed! You can keep it.

Good early morning to you all! I found myself wide awake at 2:15am,
so, what's a girl to do but log on? :ggreen: We've had five inches of rain, yesterday, and, it's still coming down. Rivers and creeks are rising, and, water has pooled in all of the lawns, across the roadways and such. My plans are to stay inside and dry, today!

That valentine is cute, Chad - thanks! Southerngale, you get over that cough - have yourself some nice hot tea and stay warm and dry. Josh,
lol, Feb.14th is always just the day after Feb.13th to me!
Everyone else, have a good morning! I'll be on later, but, I'm gonna try
and grab a few more Zzz's, if I can...

Morning everyone. It is cooling off this morning so I thought I would gather around the stove this morning to warm my toes! Cloudy and drizzly here and it looks to become freezing drizzle this afternoon so I need to go get my errands done this morning.

Have a great day everyone!

Hey ya'll. Cold here as usual...only 3 degrees and with this huge High pressure dropping down, we will struggle to break even today.....maybe 10? Lows are to be the coldest of the year here and we've already had a few double digit nights below zero...cant wait for this round. Weather looks promising once this whopper of a system heads out, back into the averages.....30s and maybe a 40 woohoo! I just emptied our fireplace out for the 10th time this year and now built our 52nd fire as well. The sun is out, breezes blowing and cold....just another day! I'll relax today compared to yesterday....those 300 some posts had me workin OT!! :o See you all later and hopefully for chat tonight! Peace.

Hi All!! I finally made it over here. :D At work I'm stuck on "the other board" & my home computer had been in the shop most of the week, so this is the first opportunity I've had to come over & check it out.

It's downright frigid here. At 11 a.m. currently sittin' @ 6* with unbelievable windgusts. Came home after work last night looking forward to going out to dinner for Valentine's Day, only to find that for the first time in 8 yrs since we bought this place, our pipes had froze. It was right at the spot where the pvc comes up into the crawlspace under the house, so we managed to get it cleared & were finally able to head out to dinner @ 8:00. The dog woke us up at 6 this morning to go out (very briefly at -18*!!) & we discovered it was froze up again!! Finally got it opened up again & put another light bulb under there to hopefully keep it warm enough not to happen again. When we moved in here the previous owners kept an electric ceramic heater running under the house all winter. The electric bill was $180 a month :o !! We just put a 60 watt light bulb burning under there during the winter & it's never failed before last night. And our electric bill doesn't go over $80 in the winter.

Well, gotta go toss in a load of laundry. I've got enough piled up to keep the water running fairly regularly today to keep it from freezin up again. Catch ya later.

I hear ya there on the bills being real high this year. Our last electric bill was $77 but before that it was doubled. This is some of the most prolonged cold ever seen even around here. Ah well...at least we're on the backside and can look forward to more warmer days than cold real soon! Again, welcome over here ts...you had a few welcomes done throughout other threads as well.

Hey 'ya, tsmith - glad ya made it over here! Grab some KKs and
hot cocoa and squeeze up to the stove and get warm....brrrrr.....!

Sorry to hear about the pipes freezing - our temps get down in the single digits for just a few nights in winter, usually, and I always drip the faucets and leave the lower cabinet doors open to let the heat reach the pipes under the sinks. So far, I've been lucky with that, where I live now.

Cold rain here; winter mix advisories already out for the area for tonight and tomorrow (which means I'm stuck here with wall-to-wall family all weekend plus "President's Day" on Monday... ).
