You don't live here, so please don't wish bad weather on me. I like a good storm too, but not tornados, and high winds. I have a very old roof and don't have the money to have it fixed just now.

He wasn't talking about Texas, he was referring to a line of storms that pushed through the Tampa area and how he hoped the storms Tampa Bay Hurricane were talking about are worse than the previous storms to hit Tampa, I believe last night.

At least I think that's what he meant.. lol. Anyways somebody wishing for a storm doesn't make it form, thank goodness, even if it is impolite!

Yup that moderate risk ends about 50 miles to my west. Interesting to see. We are also expected to see strong winds today (friday) gust up to 30 maybe 35 all day due to the increasing moisture from the gulf and this should help to increase shear (changing wind direction with height). I expect a few tornado watches out of this system for East TX,LA,MS area. (this is NOT a forecast: im just a weather nerd trying to forecast for the first time)

When was the last time we had a 10-15% hatched tornado risk and a 30-45% hatched hail risk?

Looks VERY intresting looks like anyone in Southeast texas north of Interstate 10 is in a moderate risk that would include everyone in North Harris county....

A very rough day ahead for SE TX. A dangerous and damaging event looks to unfold across SE TX N of I-10. Everyone be safe and watch the weather today.

Yikes! Haven't seen maps like that for some time. Where and when do we expect this event to begin unfolding?

Anyone notice it's snowing in Dalhart? In April, snow in Dalhart & 70s/80s in S/SE TX = Severe Outbreak.

my thoughts are that after midnight for SE TX will be the greatest threat until Saturday AM. Notice the first doppler indicated Tornado Warning out at 1:28 PM CDT .Just the 1st of many I believe

Chalk up another one to the Bear Creek Dome. Nothing major here last night other than garden-variety Spring storms, and not evening much electrical activity. I really had to laugh watching the initial line approach west Houston. The closer it got, the more it fizzed. The Dome wins again!

It wasn't that stormy last night. The only hard hit place was North Texas.

So it appears we now turn our attention to Tuesday. Any chance of severe storms then, or just some decent rain?

I really haven't seen any 'REAL' severe here at my house since March of 2004 when we have one hell of a squall line push through that laid over hundreds of huge oaks and pines! They were literally all over the road with electrical wires hanging all over the place. We've had a few close calls since then but nothing to write home to momma about. When is the last time y'all have seen a good solid round of severe weather in your area?

We've had several flooding events, but truly severe storms with tree-destroying winds and tornadoes? I don't even remember the last time that happened.

Yankee - I can't believe they didn't cancel that game. You're a better woman than I am to sit out in that mess!
