This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

The three that stick out for me is Dean, Erin, and Humberto. But the worst are going to be Noel and Pablo. I believe both will be Cat 5 and one stricking the Gulf Coast.

Also afraid that Gulf will be hit about 6 times this season with the recent report of La Nina forming in the Pacific.

All these names seem too soft or goofy to be trouble, so I suspect the goofiest or softest (which ever one that may be) to be the most malicious.

Personally I thought Katrina was a goofy name prior to 2005, so you’re probably correct in your assumption.

For those picking Andrea, remember that unless we get a dead start, we're talking about a June or early July storm. So a repeat of Allison?

Ingrid is the name which strikes me with most trepidation because her namesake in Australia was a real whopper.

For some reason Humberto also gives me a bad vibe!

Gabrielle sounds scary...but only because it was a strong TS that struck the west coast of florida in 2001.

Yeah, I remember that. It was a pretty windy and rainy day in Orlando during Gabrielle. In fact, I actually came upon some old video footage I shot of that storm just the other day. Funny to look at that footage now though because it looks very insignificant when compared to the storms of the 2004 season.

I'm still with Humberto being the big one.

However, furthering my claim of a possibility of another one of the names that I mentioned, the other night I had a very horrifying dream. The dream was a very intense, very devastating Category 5 hurricane hit somewhere in the U.S. The hurricane's name was Erin. I do know where it the U.S. it hit in my dream; however, I have the right to remain silent on that, so I do not offend anyone.

Therefore, Erin is still up there, along with Humberto and, just in case since it does rhyme with the hurricane in my nightmare, Karen.

I guess it won't be Andrea

Now everything's going to be pushed back a ways...Barry looks like a late June TS, making Chantal sound more menacing...but I think Dean will be the season's first real threat.

Ingrid. I predict it will be a beautiful but dangerous storm. At least it's been my experience with the name (my wife's name is Gail, btw.)
