Well, last night's storms weren't gonna be as bad as we thought it would've been, although a couple of trailers got tossed around in Navarro County. Also, another possible tornado might've slammed Tarrant County again, this time in Haslett. A car port there was turned into shrapnel and was tossed around briefly over several homes. Luckily no deaths or injuries occured with these storms. The National Weather Service will soon conduct a damage survey in the Haslett area. You can read more of this on WFAA.com. In the meantime, enjoy the rest of the week as skies begin to partially clear and temperatures rise to near 80.

Thanks to one of the users on YouTube, I have managed to find footage of the hailstorm in my hometown that happened on April 13, 2007.

This morning, we're seeing some patchy dense fog in some areas of North Texas. Fog has reduced visibilities to 4-5 miles with isolated areas at 1 mile. Otherwise, we'll see nice conditions throughout the weekend. A Dense Fog Advisory is in place, however for the eastern 2/3rds of North Texas including the DFW area until 11:00AM CDT.

Just found a great video on youtube of the tornado that hit the fort worth area...

And here is a different perspective taken in the same general vicinity...

Thanks for the 2 videos Extremeweatherguy. If anybody else finds the April 13th storm videos, you know where to put them. ;)

Anyways, we're continuing to see Partly Sunny skies at least through Sunday when we see another wet week ahead. Heavy thunderstorms that passed through our region last Friday and Tuesday Night will once again be on the forecast starting Sunday through next weekend with the best chances of rain on Tuesday evening to Wednesday Night Will any of these storms be severe? Only time will tell.

As far as the drought goes, according to the latest weekly drought report, we're back to normal. :woo: There's only a small speck of abnormally dry conditions in the NE corner of the North Texas region. Just wish I could say the same thing for the western states.

We're gonna enjoy a nice, yet windy weekend with high temperatures near 80 and lows in the 60s. However, the "nice weekend" may not last long, because we have a slight chance of thunderstorms late tonight into tomorrow morning. None of those appear to be severe, however, the next round of thunderstorms on Tuesday may reach severe limits.

Happy Earth Day to all the North Texans!!

Anyways, we're gonna see another round of severe weather Monday Night through Wednesday across most of North Texas with a moderate risk outlined for the extreme Northwestern portion of this region Monday Night. The moderate risk will then expand to a Mineral Wells to Sherman. This doesn't include the immediate DFW area, however, we're within the slight risk boundaries where large hail, damaging winds, and a few isolated tornadoes are possible.

Today through Wednesday, we're gonna see some thunderstorems with the best chances on Tuesday. The SPC has outlined the entire North Texas under a Slight Risk of Severe weather that day with our Red River neighbors under a Moderate Risk. Large Hail, Damaging Winds, and a few tornadoes are the possible threats on Tuesday as a vigorous upper-level disturbance moves into the area. Otherwise, we'll se a real warm-up this weekend with highs in the mid 80s.

The SPC has now issued a moderate risk of severe thunderstorms across the entire North Texas region as a vigorous upper level disturbance inches closer to the area. Destructive large hail and damaging winds are the main threats with this system, however, increasing wind shear (especially near the Red River) will may help developmental of supercell storms and could possible spawn a few tornadoes. All this activity will dimish by early Wednesday Morning.

As for the rest of the week, we may see another round of thunderstorms Friday into Early Saturday, but otherwise, we'll see a nice weekend ahead with temperatures in the mid 80s under mostly sunny skies.

Although no tornado warnings are issued for Dallas County, the sirens in Irving are now sounded as a precautionary measure.
