Apparently, Cho never talked with any of his suitemates. If they tried to talk with him, he'd just ignore them. Never had any kind of animated expression, never interacted ... just sat there typing on his computer, or watching wrestling on TV. The guy said he wouldn't even have known his name if the RA hadn't posted it on his door.

If I had a suitemate like that in college, I'd have been seriously creeped out.

I know! That is just unreal to me.

There's a guy that graduated from Clearview High School in Mantua, NJ was shot in the face. I haven't heard anything more about his status. Shawn McQuay I think is his name. :(

Edit; It's "Sean McQuade".

Fodie77 wrote:I can't put in to words how much the support of everyone here and around the country means to myself and the rest of us here in Blacksburg. To be contacted, through a YouTube account no less, by a fellow storm2k user (GalvestonDuck) is a testament to the extraordinary quality of this community. As for myself, I was outside Norris Hall when the shootings began, fortunate not to be inside it. A quick sprint across campus to get out of harm's way and I came through unharmed. However, I wish I could say the same for 32 others, many of whom we knew well. I'm sure the families of these victims would appreciate your thoughts and prayers as they will need all the support they can receive.

I would hope that, in the midst of wall-to-wall media coverage of the tragedy that occured, everyone would take a look at the community that I'm proud to be a part of. One of the greatest fears that all of us have, is that our school will forever be known as "that college where the worst shooting in US history occured." I may be biased, but I can think of no other university community that carries itself with such pride and spirit. We have never been more proud to call ourselves Hokies and hope that the world will come to see us as a college of unity, not one of catastrophe.

Lastly, as classes have been cancelled for the rest of the week, I'll be heading home to Winchester to spend time with family and friends. I don't consider myself a theologian, nor an articulate salesman of life lessons, but if there is anything I have learned over the past two days, it's that every moment in life is important and should be cherished by all, for one can never know when his/her number will come up. I can only hope that the 32 classmates of mine who were lost have moved on to a place of peace. As for all us Hokies, I pray that we can find our own.

With many thanks,
Jackson P. (Fodie77)

Duckie is our resident "Sherlock Holmes". I'm SO GLAD that you did see her message that you are alright.

VT does seem to carry itself with a lot of pride. I am so sorry for what had happened a pray that all of your lives can somehow get back to "normal" soon. Have a safe trip home to your family and keep us up to date as to how you are doing, when you get a chance.

My wife said that NBC is holding the rest of the story to Friday or Saturday night. I have a word for that but I can't say it here.

Can we PLEASE stop turning EVERY news story into a chance to bash NBC/ABC/CBS/CNN/FOX?

That being said, I'm curious to know the state's process for handling the mentally ill. This is not looking good for the state. Hopefully, reform will come from this.

My prayers are with students and families who are suffering.

One Question: Is it a bad idea to suggest security checkpoints on college campuses?

I think the idea is a good one. Feasibility is the issue.

most campuses are very big and open, it would be hard, especially with people like this.

Guns weren't allowed at Virginia Tech either, and that didn't stop him.

I didn't think of it that way. Perhaps there's a good reason for the delay besides just keeping us tuned in.

When you walk through a storm,
Hold your head up high
And don't be afraid of the dark
At the end of the storm,
There's a golden sky
And the sweet, silver song of a lark

Walk on, through the wind
Walk on, through the rain
Tho' your dreams be tossed, and blown

Walk on, walk on, with hope in your heart, and
You'll Never Walk Alone, You'll Never Walk Alone.

Walk on, walk on
With hope in your heart, and
You'll Never Walk Alone
You'll Never Walk Alone

RIP 32.

Do you really think it's smart to line people up at security checkpoints? That creates a natural target for a psychotic killer. I don't know why everyone's response to these things is to turn more places into prisons.
