Our courts don't hand down sentences of rape and beatings. In addition, while he's in the custody of the state, the state is responsible for what happens to him. Putting him in prison is just fine, allowing him to be raped is not.

I have not said that he shouldn't do the time, I agree with sending him to prison. I do not agree that allowing him to be beaten, raped, or killed while there is acceptable, as the court did not authorize those things to happen. Rape is always wrong, regardless of whether the victim is sympathetic, or not.

I doubt that he will be put into the General Population, but that still doesn't mean that there isn't a Bubba waiting for him somewhere. Actually, I think what happens is that since he's 16 he will be in a Juvenile Facility until he's 18 and then transferred to an Adult prison. What he was hoping for was to be sentenced to Juvie which meant release at age 18 instead of serving the full sentence called for-this way he does major time.

Is it true that if he was sentenced as a juvenile and served till he was 18 in Juvenile Hall, once released his record is clean as far as an adult. This crime will not go to his adult record? I forget how this works..... I may not be saying this clearly. When he becomes an adult and he commits a crime, this juvenile crime served does not go against any adult crime he would commit. Clear me up on this please.....

I think this is what happened with the kids in the Jonesboro shootings.

Suprised the parents didn't break his neck, I know I would have.
If they came in on him while he was in the act of raping the kids, then they could legally do so, it would be a matter of defending their kids. If they do it after the fact though it's murder or manslaughter, depending on the specifics. Reporting it to the cops and letting them deal with it was the wise course of action on the part of the parents.

I see no problem with locking them up, I see no problem with putting them on chain gangs, or having them do hard labor. I draw the line at allowing or condoning prisoner on prisoner violence.
