Judging by your statement your probably a teenager. Its not cool without power and losing all your food in the refrigerator and taking ice cold showers in the morning. Its also not cool after you take that cold shower get dressed and you have to take another shower because its 90°F in your house.

Im not taking offense to that, but I'm a teenager and Im not cool with no AC in 90+ weather.

Hey punky g! I live up the road from you in Geneva. It really did stink when Charley came through, no power for 3 days! I know there were a lot of people that had to go longer than that! Nice to another Storm2k'r close by!

It is not any fun being in a house in 97 degree heat with no AC. We did not have a generator during Andrew and no power for 8 days. My parents went 3 weeks without power when Betsy hit. And during Katrina, we did not have power for 4 days. We got the last window unit at Lowes which was the only store in town open. And basically did not budge from my parents bedroom until the power came back on.

After charley went by my grandmother said she was thinking about helping people clean up, but she didn't cause she is old and she gets sun burn easily.

My power was out in Winter Park for 8 days after Charley came through in 2004. Couldn't handle it after about 2-3 days so I left to somewhere with power until it could be restored. Water was also out during that time.

I went without power for 2 weeks after Frederick, 5 days after Ivan, and 1 day after Kat. I like the trend, but still don't like going 1 hour without. And try getting a motel room. I'm hoping for another 2006.

Yea, I went without power for 2 weeks after charley, only to regain power and find out Frances is on its way for another 3 day power loss followed by Jeanne which was a couple hours....NOT FUN...but i did get off of school for about 4 weeks in total that semester..but still...NOT FUN.

(Edit) BTW, I live(d) in that one spot where all three storms crossed paths...YAY for me!!

Pff... 2 weeks, I wish I was that lucky...

After Georges in Puerto Rico, I was without water for 3 weeks and without power for 1 and a half months. Its amazing how used you get to be without power when you dont have it for such a long time.
